1. Dr. Funkenstein (16-5) (2-3 last week)
2. Batman (15-6) (2-3 last week)
2. Nearsighted Nelly (15-6) (3-2 last week)
2. Philly Cheese (15-6) (3-2 last week)

Games for this week:
1. OSU vs. Minnesota
2. California vs. Oregon
3. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
4. West Virginia vs. South Florida
And the oddball game this week is:
5. Louisiana Tech vs. Fresno State
Batman
ReplyDeleteFirst off props to David Boston's Career for last weeks picks. That is truly impressive. I felt sick to my stomach knowing that I went 2-3 but lost 3 games by a total of 7 points. Anyone else feel that way?
Today I pick OSU big over Minn. Minnesota is terrible.
I am taking Oregon.
I am taking Wisc. They have not been impressive in my opinion but they are undefeated and that ought to count for something.
West Virginia is a nice ball club. I pick WVU to beat their opponent.
Finally I am going with Fresno State.
After last week's abysmal performance, I am counting on this week to be the start of a long string of consecutive correct picks.

1. OSU vs. Minnesota
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: Not even fair..
2. California vs. Oregon
W-Cal:
3. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
W-Wisconsin:
4. West Virginia vs. South Florida
W-WV:
5. Louisiana Tech vs. Fresno State
W-Fresno State: This is a total guess.
Dr. Funkenstein says:
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Minnesota - Remember Northwestern? The only difference here is location, and we might even be faster in the dome.
2. Cal over Oregon - This should be a great game. Oregon has been impressive, but I feel like Cal has more weapons.
3. Wisconsin over Michigan State - Neither team has played anyone yet. I'll take the Badgers at home.
4. West Virginia over South Florida - The Bulls have been impressive thus far, and the Mountaineers haven't been tested. The bottom line, I don't see WVU losing again after last year.
5. Fresno State over Louisiana Tech - The real question is what is Louisiana Tech doing in the WAC?
Man Getting Hit by Football Yells from the Rooftops:
ReplyDeleteOSU def. Minnesota: Minnesota should probably stick to what it does best, athletics-wise: log rolling and ice fishing. And in the case of the Minnesota Vikings, drunken debauchery on a lake cruise ship boat.
California def. Oregon: Wow, I am REALLY torn on this game. Each stat and factoid I read makes me want to change my pick. But, this fact sticks out to me the most: Oregon was trailing Stanford by 10 points during its game last week. Granted, they came back to win by 24, but NOBODY trails Stanford by 10 points in football nowadays. Maybe in the Elway days, but not now. This should be a really fun game to watch folks, take it from the man with football in his name.
Wisconsin def. MSU: I'm really not sold on the Badgers this season. They only beat the mighty Bulldogs of The Citadel by only 14 at home (and the score isn't indicative of how close it really was), and they beat Iowa by 4 points at home. P.J. Hill might have a long day ahead of him, but, despite all that, the magic of Camp Randall and the best cheer in all of college football (the "Jump Around" dance at the beginning of the 4th quarter) will carry the Badgers to an important conference victory.
West Virginia def. South Florida: Some people say that revenge isn't a strong motivating factor (i.e., USF defeating WVU 24-19 last season, in Morgantown). The Football Man strongly disagrees. Ya know that rat b**tard that hit me with the football?! Let's just say that him and his entire family as pushing daisies now. That's what you get for messin' wit' the football man!!!
Fresno State def. LA Tech: The Bulldogs' leading receiver is a guy who's first name is Bear. How could anyone ever pick against someone like that?! By the way, these friggin' oddball games are the reason why I'm not going to win the Guest Panel again this season. Thanks a lot Joe.
Pat Head:
ReplyDeleteOSU
Oregon - Considering the loss last year, and Oregon's home field advantage, I think Oregon will upset Cal. Go Ducks!
Wisconsin - I've heard Camp Randall is a tough place to play. MSU won't win this one.
West Virginia - WVU was shocked by South Florida last year. They'll be prepared this time.
