3. Philly Cheese (33-14) (3-2 last week)

Games for this week:
1. Wisconsin vs. Ohio State
2. Arizona State vs. Oregon
3. Cincinnati vs. South Florida
4. Wake Forest vs. Virginia
And the oddball game this week is:
5. Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh
Ohio State def. Wisconsin - W stands for either Ohio State victory, or win
ReplyDeleteOregon def. Arizona State - The Ducks are for real despite [insert tired uniform joke here]
South Florida def. Cincinnati - Speaking of uniforms, the Bulls have some nice ones. DBC is a fan.
Virginia def. Wake Forest - The Cavaliers are much like the cars they are named after, moderately dependable but utterly unimpressive.
Pitt def. Syracuse - Basketball season is starting up again. DBC wishes much success and a speedy recovery to Greg Oden.
1. Wisconsin vs. Ohio State
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: This is my only confident pick of the week. All other games are chosen by complete randomity. (That's right. I made up a word, and you like it.)
2. Arizona State vs. Oregon
W-Oregon:
3. Cincinnati vs. South Florida
W- S. Florida:
4. Wake Forest vs. Virginia
W-Virginia:
5. Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh
W-Pitt: I'm going to start pronouncing Pittsburgh with an "f" sound instead of a "g" sound at the end. "Pittsburf"
The Man of the Football says:
ReplyDeleteOhio State def. Wisconsin: Remember how all the college football prognosticators were selecting Wisconsin as a dark horse team for the national title? Apparently, none of the Wisconsin players do. The Buckeyes should cover the spread, and then some, this Saturday at noon.
Oregon def. ASU: Okay, you would have thought that I learned my lesson about not picking against ASU last week. But alas, I have not. Granted, Oregon is a much better team than Cal and they're playing at Oregon, but something tells me that the Sun Devils might have something up their sleeves for the "Mighty" Ducks.
South Florida def. Cincinnati: Both teams have lost 2 straight games to conference opponents, so, something's gotta give. My vote is for the Bulls, because at least they've beaten a few teams of consequence. Plus a bull is just a lot cooler than a bearcat (whatever the hell a bearcat is). Joe, you're a big fan of the Queen City, look it up and educate us all.
Wake Forest def. Virginia: Sorry sis, but, I'm going to have to pick against your alma mater here. None of their wins (sans the 1 point victory at home over an overrated UConn team) have been all that impressive. Beating Middle Tennessee State by 2 points at home is not an accomplishment, it's an embarrassment.
Pittsburgh def. Syracuse: Wow, I can't say that I ever thought my alma mater would be involved in one of Joe's infamous oddball games. My apologies to the two Robinsons (Greg & Andrew), the Syracuse football team, and the entire Syracuse University community for this pick. But, when it's week #10 in Joe's Guest Panel, the going gets tough, or the going...uh...goes home???
Batman,
ReplyDeleteProps for the week: Big Ten Network (don't let giant cable companies bully you around), Matt Ryan and BC -- best college football game this year, Bill Walton.
Picks, rolling along 9 out of 10 during the past 2 weeks to climb atop the standings!
1. Ohio State, can't possibly pick against them. Predictable beat down of a mediocre PSU team. Wisconsin, I beleive was the last home loss for OSU, that was a wierd feeling after that game.
2. Oregon. Burning me twice this year on picks was Oregon (I picked Mich and USC). So will bad luck come in threes? Probably. But I am not going to pick against USC as long as Pete Carroll is their coach, he needs to be considered the best coach in college football.
3. South Florida
4. Virginia - this pick is solely based on my brother's prediction. I have given him the hardest pick of each week and so far he has gone 8-1. I have often picked against his advice and got burned.
5. Pitt. Should be a win for them. Did you know that Pitt vs Penn State used to be a great rivalry?

ReplyDelete1. osu... i will be listening to the game on the am radio... am radio...
2. gotta take oregon... i've never seen such shitty colors look so good!
3. south florida... even though both teams have their share of 'academic exceptions' on their teams (didn't we used to call them felons?), i think south florida will bounce back...
4. lets go with wake forrest... they want the top spot in the acc... kinda like being a dwarf among midgets... (why yes, yes i can reach that for you!)
5. i'll go with pittsburg... i can't keep that city out of my mind ever since i saw justin timberlake in concert there this past winter... he is sooooo hot!! (did i just say that out loud?)

Dr. Funkenstein says:
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Wisconsin - The Badgers will not be dancing on the Block O on Saturday.
2. Oregon over Arizona State - Oregon is really good and a lot of fun to watch.
3. South Florida over Cincinnati - Maybe UConn is for real this year?
4. Virginia over Wake Forest - Tough call. I'll take the Cavs at home.
5. Pitt over Syracuse - The Big East continues its Renaissance, leaving these two has beens in the dust.
