Last week I actually did a little research before submitting my picks and ended up 3-3. This week I'm going back to my trusty old method of zero research and gut instincts.

Joe- it wa a pleasure to see the Yankees go down. In fact, when it comes to baseball - I solely root against the yankees just because of who they are and what they stand for.

Ohio State def. Kent State - With the way football games have been going this year, never overlook the little guys.
ReplyDeletePenn State def. Wisconsin - Both teams are better than they've played, Penn State in particular.
Oklahoma def. Missouri - As Ted Kennedy would say, "Boomah Soonah".
Auburn def. Arkansas - Auburn is a much better name than Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Good move there.
UAB def. Tulane - DBC's secret to pick 'em success? No research, no insight, no problem.
Man Getting Hit by Football Proudly States:
ReplyDeleteOSU def. Kent State: Kent State's team nickname is the "Golden Flashes." They should lose the game based solely on that fact, in and of itself.
Penn State def. Wisconsin: The stats say that Penn State doesn't lose at home (18 out of the 19 games have been Nittany Lion victories). The streak continues on Saturday. Plus the Badgers just lost their best WR for the season.
Oklahoma def. Missouri: My gut tells me that the Sooners are still smarting over the loss to Colorado a few weeks. And they'll continue to take out their frustrations on the (slightly) overrated Tigers.
Arkansas def. Auburn: Something tells me that the 'Hogs aren't going to start out 0-3 in SEC play, especially at home. Besides, if Houston Nutt loses this game, the Arkansas fans will begin constructing his effigy to burn at the stake shortly after the end of the game.
UAB def. Tulane: Totally picking this one at random. I repeat my statement of last week that these oddball games are going to be the reason I don't finish in first place in the Guest Panel yet again (although I did correctly predict the winner of the oddball game last week...perhaps my luck is turning around).

2. Wisconsin over Penn State - Both teams are still steaming over upset losses to Illinois. All I have to say is that trap game set for November 10th is no longer a trap for the Buckeyes.
3. Oklahoma over Missouri - I know Missouri is undefeated, but I haven't seen them play this season, so I can only assume they're overrated.
4. Arkansas over Auburn - I like the Hogs at home coming off a bye.
5. UAB over Tulane - Yahtzee!

2. Wisconsin - Neither team has lived up to pre-season expectations, but I think Wisconsin has the edge.
3. Oklahoma - Boomer Sooner will end Mizzou's winning streak.
4. Arkansas - although McFadden will not be 100% I think Arkansas will earn it's first SEC win this weekend.
