    9. Michigan State
    10. TCU
    11. Maryland
    12. UConn - Why does UConn get the cool abbreviated name? Why not UMich, or OhiU, or UCal for example?
    13. Central Florida
    14. Penn State - Ever seen "Weekend at Bernie's"? Penn State's sideline is like that movie. Joe Pa has actually been dead for 11 years, they just dig up his dead body for every game, dress him up, and walk him around so the fans think he's still alive. RETIRE ALREADY!
    15. Alabama

    2 Memphis

3 UC - UC should be going to a much better bowl than this. They got screwed!!!

4 New Mexico - how could they lose their own bowl?

5 UCLA beat BYU once already this year, they'll do it again in Las Vegas.

    6 Boise State

    7 Central Michigan

8 Arizona State - Texas is in the Holiday Bowl…God help me I love it so!

9 Michigan State - they will want it more.

    10 TCU

    11 Oregon State

    12 Wake

13 Missippi State - Mississippi State has done a decent job at stopping the run this year - ie. held McFadden to 88 yards. They should be able to handle Central Florida's Kevin Smith.

14 PSU - Penn State has another gear for bowl games…trust me, I've seen the Vols fall victim to that gear too many times!

    15 Bama - ROLL TIDE!

16 Cal - what happened to Cal??? Wasn't Longshore supposed to win the Heisman Corso?

17 South Florida - Poor Oregon. It's amazing how much a difference one player can mean to a team…you OSU fans know how that is.

    18 GT

    19 Kentucky

20 Oklahoma State - "I'm a man!" The men will beat the boys!

21 Auburn - Auburn will win this Battle of the Bowden's…oh wait, what happened to Terry Bowden?

22 Tennessee - Hopefully Tennessee will learn from last year's loss to Penn State and be prepared to face Wisconsin. Fulmer's bonus for his contract extension depends upon their performance. GO VOLS!

23 Missouri - I'm not sure Arkansas can stop Missouri's offense. As long as Missouri can stack the line, they should have no trouble with Arkansas…McFadden can't do it all…or can he?

    24 Texas Tech

25 Michigan - I'm going against what everyone else is saying…Tebow and the Gators will be too distracted w/ the Heisman to put up w/ Michigan, who has something to prove this year.

    26 Rutgers

27 Tulsa - I think this game could come down to which offense has the ball last. Neither team appears to have much of a defense.

28 USC - this will be closer than most think, Illinois will be ready to play, but USC will be playing at home and has the upper hand.

29 Georgia - Lord I hope Georgia does not lose this game!

30 Oklahoma - Joe said that I have said Boomer Sooner way too much in my comments, so I'm just going to say with no exclamation points or any kind of fun, that I think Oklahoma will kill West Virginia.

31 VT (formerly known as VPI) - Is anyone else bored w/ this game?

32 OSU - OSU needs to redeem itself after last year's debacle. LSU is not as good as Florida was last year. Watch Hester though, he is a tough runner and can bulldoze the secondary if he gets past the lineman. For the tie-breaker: TOT: 38

What an amazing 2007 season. The upsets were abundant and were apparent from our records for picks.

I have picked a couple sleepers that are worthy of talking about briefly.

Central Michigan is the real deal. They dominated the MAC championship game and will stun Purdue, a pathetic excuse for a team.

Kansas, they only had one loss and was it was by the closest of margins. I look for the Jayhawks to finish off one terrific season with an upset.

LSU is impossible for me to pick against due to their strength of schedule. This game might not be close. As you can see I am not optimistic about OSU’s chances in this obvious away game.

Florida over Michigan. On paper this game should be over, but I hate picking against Michigan. Will they even have a coach? You would think they would have named one by now unless they have a secret deal going on with Les Miles. Since when do you call a school to help them select a coach?

Virginia is my favorite team this year! They have always come thru for me in my picks contest and I look for another squeaker win in the Gator bowl!

Tennessee came on strong and UT did the right thing by inking Fulmer for an extension.

Never pick against Bobby Bowden, especially in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl.

Oregon comes alive to end the season on a good note.

Colorado scored a huge win vs Oklahoma this year. I give the edge to the Buffaloes.

Penn State should defeat Texas A&M and this might be the only win for the Big Ten.

UConn upsets WF and they ride off with a memorable year.

Good luck to the entire panel. But I am gunning for 32-0 with my picks and a repeat Buckeye Pregame Picks Championship Certificate.

Sorry, no comments. That's just too many games. The Buckeyes will be celebrating in New Orleans, and Florida's going to ensure that the door firmly hits Lllllloyd Carr on the way out. (Not that I want Florida to win or Carr to leave, but them's the breaks.)

  7. Man Getting Hit by Football Proclaims:

Navy def. Utah: Come on...it'd be un-American to pick a team full of Mormons over a service academy. And this guy is ALL-AMERICAN BABY!

    ReplyDelete
  8. New Orleans Bowl
Florida Atlantic def. Memphis: This game is so highly anticipated, that espn.com's College Football Bowl Overview page neglected to even put it up on the bowl schedule. Since I know little about either team, I'm gonna with the school that I think probably has hotter co-eds.

    PapaJohns.com Bowl
Cincinnati def. Southern Miss.: Given that Cincinnati wins this game, their head coach Brian Kelly will be a very rich head coach at a big name school for the 2008 season.

    New Mexico Bowl
Nevada def. New Mexico: UNM's leading rusher was declared ineligible for the game the game this past week. And who says the Football Man doesn't do his research?! Plus, since becoming the starter, Nevada's QB is ranked fifth nationally in passing efficiency. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Dr. Funkenstein!

    Las Vegas Bowl
BYU def. UCLA: I'm generally against Mormons playing big-time college football, but, for some reason, it works well at BYU, don't ask me how or why.

    Hawaii Bowl
Boise State def. East Carolina: Think that the Pirates have practiced defending against the Statue of Liberty play?

    Motor City Bowl
Purdue def. Central Michigan: Congratulations Chippewas! Your reward for winning the MAC title game, blowing out Miami of Ohio 35-10?! A trip to Detroit. In the middle of winter. To play a team that already blew you out in September. Thank you Motor City Bowl Selection Committee.

    Holiday Bowl
Arizona State def. Texas: The Holiday Bowl is usually one of the bigger and more intriguing non-BCS bowl games, and this year is no exception. Dennis Erickson works his magic yet again.

    Champs Sports Bowl
Boston College def. Michigan State: How did BC, once ranked #2 in the nation, get relegated to this POS bowl game? Well sir, you lose to Florida State late in the season and this is what happens, at least nowadays.

    Texas Bowl
TCU def. Houston: Do the two teams opposing each other in the Texas Bowl have to be schools located in Texas? If so, I'm going to come out and say that's there a slight bias here. Well, I guess it's a good thing, considering that no one outside the state of Texas actually cares about this game anyways.

    Emerald Bowl
Oregon State def. Maryland: I hate to pick against the alma mater of many of my relatives, but, come on now...a Jekyll & Hyde Maryland team versus Oregon State, winners of 6 of their last 7 games (losing only to USC), and a team that beat the #2 ranked team in the country at the time (California)? The Terps get eaten out by the Beavers. Yes, I said it. Edit that Joey!

    Meineke Car Care Bowl
Wake Forest def. UConn: Basically a home game for the Demon Deacons. Plus, it seems whenever I pick against Wake Forest, I lose. Not going to be in the ass by that bug again!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Liberty Bowl
Central Florida def. Mississippi State: What?! The director of "Clerks" has transformed into the leading rusher in D-I college football? I am shocked, appalled, and amazed.

    Alamo Bowl
Penn State def. Texas A&M: JoePa coaching in his 500th college game...the unknown and unnamed Texas A&M coaching in his first. Who do you think has the advantage there?

    Independence Bowl
Colorado def. Alabama: Alabama has Nick Saban, yes, but when you lose to Louisiana-Monroe, that fact alone should automatically disqualify you from a postseason bowl game appearance. Based on the participants in this game, it should be called the "Kissing Your Sister Bowl."

    Armed Forces Bowl
Air Force def. California: Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Remember when DeSean Jackson was a Heisman Trophy front-runner? Neither do I.

    Sun Bowl
South Florida def. Oregon: See my above statement regarding California, and apply the same to both of these teams.

    Humanitarian Bowl
Fresno State def. Georgia Tech: They make a (somewhat respectable) bowl game, and their head coach still gets fired? What did you expect the guy to do one season after losing the best player in college football? Win the national title?! The Bulldogs win close, although I wouldn't be surprised if FSU head coach Pat Hill is 1/2 hour late to the game, due to a mustache grooming mishap in the locker room.

    Music City Bowl
Kentucky def. Florida State: After half of its team was suspended two weeks before the game, Florida State has decided to bring back Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke, Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp, Peter Warrick, and Warrick Dunn to play the Wildcats, even each player has long since used up their NCAA eligibility. Bowden probably won't care too much, since the NCAA won't impose its sanctions until the 2008 season.

    Insight Bowl
Indiana def. Oklahoma State: Sorry to get all sappy, but, I'd really like to see Indiana win this game. And they should, considering OK State's defense shows up for about 1/2 of its games.

    Chick-fil-A Bowl
Clemson def. Auburn: Fun fact-Chick-Fil-A restaurants aren't open on Sundays since the founder is a Baptist? In terms of the game itself, a real pick 'em game. Should be one of the more entertaining non-BCS games.

    Outback Bowl
Tennessee def. Wisconsin: Another tough one to pick. But, lesson learned from the Ohio State-Florida title game last year: go with the SEC team versus a Big Ten team.

    Cotton Bowl
Missouri def. Arkansas: Coaching carousel, much? I'm betting Petrino doesn't even know all of his new players' names yet, let alone how to beat the almost title game participants.

    Gator Bowl
Texas Tech def. Virginia: I hate to go against the home state team and my sister's alma mater, but, when you beat most of your opponents by 3 points or less, you won't be able to keep up with Texas Tech.

    Capital One Bowl
Florida def. Michigan: See my statement regarding the Outback Bowl. If Michigan can't stop Boeckman and Wells, how are they going to stop Tebow, Harvin, and Caldwell?

    International Bowl
Rutgers def. Ball State: How is it possible that this game is allowed to be played as late in the bowl season as it is? And how is it possible that Schiano turned down the Michigan job to stay at Rutgers?! I give him all the credit in the world for his success the past 3 years, but, let's not forget, it is Rutgers after all. And Michigan is, well, Michigan.

    GMAC Bowl
Bowling Green def. Tulsa: BG in da house!!! I pick the Falcons for no other reason than it seems like everyone east of the Mississippi has a Bowling Green story. The same can't really be said of Tulsa.

    Rose Bowl Game
Southern California def. Illinois: Ron Zook, welcome to the BCS spotlight. Please try not to get blinded before kickoff.

    Sugar Bowl
Georgia def. Hawaii: Will Hawaii pull an upset like Boise State did versus Oklahoma last year? I don't think lightning will strike twice, but, it will definitely be a closer game than most people think. And if Brennan does pull an upset, mark this game down as the beginning of the end of the BCS system as we know it.

    Fiesta Bowl
Oklahoma def. West Virginia: USC last year, West Virginia this year. Unlike USC though, West Virginia won't come back to win its BCS game after laying an egg versus an unranked opponent in the final game of the season with a spot in the national championship game on the line, especially when its head coach has since bolted for the bright lights and big city that is Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    Orange Bowl
Virginia Tech def. Kansas: The Hokies were one Matt Ryan miracle comeback on the road away from playing in the title game. Kansas, well, Kansas needs to spend some of its BCS bowl game winnings on a Weight Watchers plan for its head coach.

    BCS National Championship Game
Ohio State 24, LSU 20 (total points, 44): OSU wins this game for a number of reasons: (1) they learned their lesson last year in the title game vs. Florida, and this year vs. Illinois. It won't happen again; (2) LSU, by all rights, should have 1-2 more losses. They have been the luckiest team in the country the entire year; (3) the Buckeyes have Tressel, and the Tigers have Les "I'm Only Helping Michigan Out With Their Head Coach Search As a Proud Alumni" Miles. Here's betting that Miles will gamble on fourth down one too many times, and Gholston eats Flynn for lunch. Although, unlike the past 2 Buckeye title game match-ups, we won't have the "home field" advantage, as the game is being played 1.5 hours from the LSU campus. Laissez les bons temps roulez!
