ReplyDelete1. OSU over Troy – Let’s see if Pryor can show some more of his skills when he gets to lead the offense for more than a couple of plays at a time.
2. Auburn over LSU – Auburn has won against LSU at home their last 10 meetings…this could be the weekend LSU prevails, however, Auburn has a killer run defense, and LSU hasn’t been much of a passing team their first two games. We could see another 3-2 score like last weekend.
3. Wake Forest over Florida State – Bowden won’t get his 376th win this week. I think it’ll be close with Wake coming out on top.
4. North Carolina over VT – both teams appear to have decent defenses, but NC looks like it has a bit more offense.
5. Ole Miss over Vandy – I can’t believe the other Tennessee team in the SEC is all that good. Rebels over Commodores.
And the oddball game this week is:
6. UTEP over New Mexico State – UTEP has played two games to the Aggies’ one and appear to have a bit more offense. I’m going with the miners at home.

My picks are these: OSU, LSU, FSU, NC, Mississippi, UTEP.
OSU is just 3-3 in their last 6 games. But this week I see them covering the 21 point spread.
I have been without power since Sunday's arrival of Hurrican Ike. It will probably be a while until we get it back. So my comments this week are short but hopefully accurate.

Troy: Joey and I were chatting earlier this week, and we both commented on the fact that the Buckeyes will be playing teams with the "Trojans" nickname for the second straight game. So, assuming we beat Troy on Sat. afternoon, can we truthfully say that we beat the Trojans this season? I think we can!!! And how the casual college football fan would be ever so confused!!! Haha, victory is ours!!!
LSU def. Auburn: Do I go with the team starting a former walk-on who transferred from Hah-vad at QB, or the team that scored 3 points in its last game and won? As they say in Baton Rouge, Geaux Tigers!
Wake Forest def. Florida State: FSU still has yet to prove that they're back in the mode that made them a perennial 10 win/top 5 team for an entire decade. And no, I don't wins vs. Western Carolina and Chattanooga as wins of any significance.
North Carolina def. VA Tech: As much as I love the Hokies, they've been pretty dissapointing so far this season. There will be no Hokie Pokie dancing in North Carolina on Saturday, sadly.
Mississippi def. Vanderbilt: I'll take the team with gorgeous Southern belle co-eds drinking mint julips wearing their sun dresses while tailgating in The Grove vs. geeky nerds studying in the library any day of the week.
UTEP def. New Mexico State: Only picking UTEP because the game is at their stadium. Plus, they have a much cooler logo. BTW, do the teams involved in the oddball game each week, by definition, always suck? Or does it just turn out that way?

2. Auburn-Let's hope this Auburn game is better than last week's snoozer. Reminded me of the 2-0 Ontario-Lexington high school game back in the day.
3. Florida State-I hate to pick 'em, because every loss by Bowden gets him one closer to leaving the game and letting JoePa keep the record, that is the record for "most trips to the bathroom by a coach during a game."
4. North Carolina-VT will lose to another Carolina.
5. Mississippi-Ah hell any school that has four damn curse words in its damn fight song automically has one hell of an advantage on the opponent.
6. UTEP-Little known trivia fact, UTEP stands for University of Texas Eats Poop. Hmm, must be a branch of the University of Texas.

5. Vanderbilt over Mississippi - I see what you're doing here, Joe, knowing that I can't pick against either Ohio State or Vanderbilt. Luckily for me, both of my teams are going to win this week.

ReplyDelete1. OSU over Troy - lets hope Troy plays like troy smith in the championship game two years ago! no really, if osu looses this one (even with beanie questionable), tressel will definitely have some explaining to do!
2. LSU over Auburn - i was recently introduced to a new sales man at work. he is the replacement for one that was recently promoted. he is a republican. he is annoying. i will not buy anything from him. he went to Auburn.
3. Florida State over Wake Forest - i can't go one week without picking the underdog upset game. apparently last week i lost by picking osu over sc. hopefully i can redeem myself this week. if not, i may have to change my blog name to spamsandwichsayonara!
4. North Carolina over Virginia Tech - VT's luck is over after the last few years, and i still don't know what a hokie is! my guess is that if i have to ask then i can't afford it!
5. Mississippi over Vanderbilt - go for the home team at night.
