ReplyDeleteCongrats to all of my fellow Guest Panelists on a great regular season thus far. It's been a lot of fun, and the competition has been great. I look forward to a strong end to the regular season, and a good bowl game season as well. Special kudos to Hudy Delights, a rookie Guest Panelist who has taken the Buckeye Pregame blog by storm.
Now, onto the picks...
Oklahoma def. Oklahoma State: Wow, after Saturday night, I don't know how ANYONE could ever pick against Oklahoma to lose another game the rest of this season. Yowza. Did Peyton Manning transform into a 21 year old kid from Oklahoma named Sam Bradford on Sat. night or what?!
Oregon State def. Oregon: The Beavers have a Rose Bowl berth on the line in this game. They nearly blew it vs. Arizona last week. Methinks they don't underestimate the Ducks and win this one by a fairly large margin.
Bowling Green def. Toledo: I'm not from Ohio so I don't know/could really care less, but I'm guessing this game is a big deal this weekend over there, since OSU's regular season is finished??? If it is, it really shouldn't be. The mighty Falcons win the non-professional battle of Ohio.
West Virginia def. Pittsburgh: Memo to Dave Wannstedt and Pittsburgh: You really let me down last week. Admittedly, the game was at Cincinnati and the Bearcats are doing very well this season, but, you guys were on a roll heading into that game, 7-1 in your last 8. Hence, I am not picking you to win this game, even though the game is at Pittsburgh. Pat White & Co. will reap revenge from the high heavens upon you for their inexplicable loss last season that prevented them from playing in the title game. Be prepared for a berth in the Champs Sports Bowl.
Sincerely,
A Disgruntled (and currently in 3rd place because of you) Nostrapigskinus
Wake Forest def. Vanderbilt: A non-conference game this late in the season?! I thought only Georgia and Georgia Tech did that. Since these are two academically strong schools, I'm guessing some sort of nerdy trophy is on the line, like the Golden Pocket Protector, the Lifetime Library Access Card, or something like that.
New Mexico State def. Utah State: I give Joe major props for being consistent and always putting two cra**y teams in the weekly oddball game. And wasn't the NMSU QB (Holbrook) being touted as a dark-horse Heisman Trophy candidate at the beginning of the season? Where has that bandwagon gone?
OLD BAG OF MAN:
ReplyDelete1) OKLAHOMA. AFTER SATURDAY NIGHTS GAME, I DON'T THINK OSU STANDS A CHANCE.
2) OREGON. OSU'S RUNNING BACK IS HURT. PLUS THE BUCKEYES NEED OREGON TO WIN THIS ONE TO GET A BCS.
3) BGSU. CAUSE JILL SAID SO.
4) WVU. WVU IS BETTER THAN MICHIGAN.
5) VANDY. NO REASON.
6) UTAH STATE.
Hudy Delights pick this week
ReplyDeleteOklahoma over Okie State
Oregon defeats Oregon State
BGSU over TOledo
West Virginia over Pitt
Wake over Vandy
Utah State over New Mexico State
1. Oklahoma over Oklahoma State - Every game in the Big XII south 4 good teams' round robin and has been won by the home team (except Texas's neutral win over OU). That's all well and good, but watch out for the Sooners to get smoked in a championship game again.
ReplyDelete2. Oregon over Oregon State - The Ducks are playing some good ball right now, and Autzen is a tough to play.
3. Bowling Green over Toledo - Yawn.
4. West Virginia over Pittsburgh - Revenge game for Pitt spoiling WVU's trip to the BCS NC last season.
5. Vanderbilt over Wake Forest - The Commies are bowl eligible for the first time in 26 years! I don't know how they lost to Tennessee last week, but they will rally to get #7 this week.
6. Utah State over New Mexico State - Aggies always win over Aggies.
Pat Head's Picks:
ReplyDelete1. Oklahoma over Oklahoma State: The Sooners made their bid for Big 12 South champion loud and clear against TT and they'll be fired up after being ranked behind the other UT.
2. Oregon State over Oregon: This is a close one. Oregon could easily come away with a win, but I think the Beavers will have the edge at home, even w/o their star running back.
3. Toledo over Bowling Green: BG lost to Miami, who Toledo creamed. I'm goin' with the home team in this rivalry.
4. West Virginia over Pittsburgh: WVU will be looking for revenge against Pitt this year after their crucial loss last year.
5. Wake Forest over Vandy: As much as I hate to pick against an SEC team, I think Vandy is spiraling out of control after their great start. They'll lose to Wake at home.
6. Utah State over New Mexico State: I don't remember why I picked the Aggies.
TEAM BIG DOG member LITTLE big DOG SEZ...Dad stinks, I'm picking out this, he's not very good!
ReplyDeleteGames for this week:
1. Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State
Little BIG DOG SEZ: Oklahoma Sooners
2. Oregon vs. Oregon State
Little BIG DOG SEZ: Oregon (I guess)
3. Bowling Green vs. Toledo
Little BIG DOG SEZ: Toledo (tough pick, Mom & Dad are BGSU Alums!)
4. West Virginia vs. Pittsburgh
Little BIG DOG SEZ: West By Golly Virginia (You think Rich Rod will bring some wolverines down to watch a real team?)
5. Vanderbilt vs. Wake Forest
Little BIG DOG SEZ: Wake Forest (if a tree falls in the woods.......)
And the oddball game this week is:
6. New Mexico State vs. Utah State
Little BIG DOG SEZ: Utah State
Buckeye Cock says:
ReplyDeleteI miss the Buckeyes!
1. OK State - I think it would be great if Mizzou wins the Big 12
2. Oregon - Go USC--to the Rose Bowl.
3. Bowling Gree,
4. WVU - Payback for the Mountaineers.
5. Wake - Where did this game come from this late in the season?
6. Utah State
Batman prognosticates:
ReplyDelete1. Oklahoma
2. Oregon State - what times we live in where USC doesn't play in a BCS game.
3. Bowling Green - has some better stats on paper that made me take them
4. West Virginia - this squad seems to be solid, Pitt isn't
5. Wake Forest - even though Vandy plays in a better conference, I am liking a home team this late in the season.
6. Utah State - not a bad season for me with the odd balls.
Get that tiebreaker ready, Moderator Neff, it might be a close race.
