Pittman's Job is Safe
Well, perhaps one of my questions from earlier this week is answered. In today's Dispatch running backs coach Dick Tressel, yes he is related, said Chris "Beanie" Wells will not challenge Antonio Pittman for the starting position. Pittman says he is 100% after recovering this past spring from a hamstring injury. During spring training we kept hearing about the dominance of incoming freshman Beanie, who entered OSU early. It appears that was a tease, and we will only see him in a limited role, unless Pittman should get injured. I am 100% behind Pittman. It is always a good thing to have such talent at one position, since it raises the level of expected performance. Pittman will be challenged to play his best. Also, assuming no unforeseen events, we should have a replacement for Pittman when he heads to the NFL.
