This is the first time these two schools have met for a football game. 

Coaches

In his sixth season at Ohio State, Jim Tressel has a record of 62-13 (82.6%) and he is 73% in his 21 years of coaching. He is 4-1 in bowl games.

 

Coach Urban Meyer is 21-4 (85%) in his second year at Florida. He is 80% in his six years at Bowling Green, Utah and Florida. Meyer is a product of Ohio, having grown up in Ashtabula and he played as a defensive back at the University of Cincinnati in the late 80's. He was a graduate assistant at Ohio State under Earle Bruce, an assistant coach at Illinois State, Colorado State, and Notre Dame. This will be his fourth bowl game. He led the Utah Utes to the Liberty and Fiesta Bowls. Last year he coached the Gators in the Outback Bowl.
