The Series

OSU leads the series 39-7. The teams first played each other in 1921, but only played 12 times from 1921-1966. OSU has won every game in the Metrodome, going 10-0 since 1980. Minnesota last beat a top-ten team, when it won in Columbus in 2000 over #6 Ohio State, which was the first of four losses that season, ultimately resulting in the firing of Coach Cooper. Glen Mason, then the coach at Minnesota became the leading candidate for the job at OSU. It appears AD Andy Geiger picked the right man in Tressel, considering Glen Mason is no longer at Minnesota, and instead he is doing TV work for the Big Ten Network.
