Games for this week:
1. Ohio State vs. Michigan (Hockey on Saturday Night)
2. Texas vs. Texas Tech
3. Florida vs. Georgia
4. Northwestern vs. Minnesota
5. Wofford vs. Appalachian St. (Friday Night)
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Michigan vs. Purdue
1. Ohio State vs. Michigan (Hockey on Saturday Night)
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: This would be fun to watch. The score may actually be higher than OSU's football game last week.
2. Texas vs. Texas Tech
W-Texas: I'd love to see Texas lose but I don't think it'll happen. Colt McCoy will win the Heisman and the National Championship.
3. Florida vs. Georgia
W-Florida: Tebow will be too much.
4. Northwestern vs. Minnesota
W-Northwestern: The way the Big Ten is this year I'm surprised this isn't the odd ball game.
5. Wofford vs. Appalachian St. (Friday Night)
W-App St: How is this not the odd ball game!?
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Michigan vs. Purdue
W-Michigan: Ah, I understand. Well done, Joe.
TEAM BIG DOGS
ReplyDelete***********************
1. Ohio State vs. Michigan (Hockey on Saturday Night)
OSU Puckeyes for sure!
2. Texas vs. Texas Tech
Texas wins....pass defense to porous for Tech, McCoy continues to have big numbers for the longhorns.
3. Florida vs. Georgia
Georgia is a force to be reckoned with, they will romp!
4. Northwestern vs. Minnesota
Dart board comes up with Northwestern winning this one.
5. Wofford vs. Appalachian St. (Friday Night)
Appalachian State will win (I'll never pick against them, never!)
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Michigan vs. Purdue
Purdue continues to hurt the team up north.
OLD BAG OF MAN PROCLAIMS:
ReplyDelete1) OSU. I HAVE FAITH IN THE YOUNG BUCKEYES HOCKEY TEAM. PLUS, WINGED HOCKEY HELMETS MICHIGAN, COME UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE.
2) TEXAS. BIG 12 = NO DEFENSE.
3) FLORIDA. I STILL AM NOT A BELIEVER IN GEORGIA AS A TOP TEAM.
4) MINNESOTA. WITHOUT SUTTON FOR NW I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE THE OFFENSE TO WIN.
5) APP ST. I STILL LIKE THEM.
6) M*CHIGAN. I HATE TO PUT A VOTE FOR THEM BUT I FEEL LIKE THEY'RE DO FOR A WIN.
Buckock says:
ReplyDelete1. OSU - I picked against OSU last week and -- won! Not this time, especially not against Michi**n
2. TT - I have picked against Texas for the last 2 weeks and I'm still not sold. This one should be good.
3. Georgia - I don't like Teboe.
4. Minni - Surprised to think that Minni is actually good this year.
5. App State - Do you think anyone will pick against them?
6. Michigan - Purdue has good D but Michigan has to win a game every ince in a while -- don't they?
spamsandwichsan says... could we play southern cal this weekend instead of a bye week? i think we could definatley erase that loss at this point in the season and show them that being no. 1 in the PAC-10 is kinda like being a dwarf among midgets... (just to be clear, i'm not suggesting that midgets can't play football!)
ReplyDelete1. Michigan over Ohio State - i hate to ever pick that team up north, but this early in the season i think michigan has some steam (mostly bellowing from that pile of crap they call a football team!) at home. plus, since their football team stinks, i think more fans will turn out and make this difficult for the bucks. i'm estimating of the ~7,000 in their hockey arena saturday night, 6,950 will be assholes that won't be rooting for the buckeyes!
2. Texas Tech over Texas - this pick may ruin my 5-1 run last week, but i think Texas showed a few signs of weakness. tech has also put up some massive points on the board, and anyone who listens to Madden can tell you that 'the team that scores the most points will win the game!'
3. Georgia over Florida - tebow will cry as his hiseman hopes are shattered by the bulldogs.
4. Minnesota over Northwestern - close as they are, i think minnesota will win. i will definately be watching to see if the wildcats stand a chance at an upset when osu visits next weekend.
5. Appalachian St. over Wofford - this could be the odd ball game, but the teams area actually good! gotta pick appalachian state at home. i would even pick them if it was away, after they were able to burn down the 'little house' up at michigan last year.
6. Purdue over Michigan - we will be able to smell this shitty game all the way in columbus. my only hope is that Purdue can win so the buckeye's don't have another eyesore this season. i think the BCS eliminated the 'OSU' factor that seemed to creep into the polls the last few years.
Dr. Funkenstein is hemorrhaging points in the standings right now and is in need of a turnaround this week.
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over m*ch*g@n - Former Buckeye and current Capital Dave Steckel scored a goal in the game DFunk attended last night. sounds like an omen to me.
2. Texas Tech over Texas - I know, I know. I said I was buying into Texas. Well, now I'm starting to buy into Tech as well, and they are the homeboys in this one.
3. Florida over Georgia - The way things are headed, no one may want to play Florida at the end of the season.
4. Minnesota over Northwestern - I want to pick Northwestern here, mostly because I want to put to bed the possibility that the Gophers could be in the Rose Bowl, but NU isn't going to beat them without Bacher or Sutton.
5. Appalachian State over Wofford - Who was it that decided that this is FCS instead of 1-AA now? Stupid.
6. Purdue over m*ch*g@n - The loser of this game is officially removed from bowl consideration while the winner has one more week to think about the preseason outlook before their season, too, is over.

Batman:
ReplyDelete1. I am picking Michigan here because of their high ranking. Does the moderator and the panel realize that it is a 2 game series with the first game played fri night and the second on Sat? Does the panel know that Moderator Neff is posting the second game? These required deep research, research necessary to some day climb out of 3rd place.
2. Texas wins this one. It is important for either Alabama or Texas to lose once so Penn State can make the championship game (provided they win out). They had a similar start in 1999 and lost at home to Minnesota inexplicably. After that, they were not the same until 2005.
3. Florida.
4. Minnesota. Who would have thought these teams would be this impressive?
5. Appalachian state. You guys should read the bitter threads I saw about this game!
6. Michigan. Michigan is still Michigan and Purdue is still pathetic.
Good luck to Panel.
Nostrapigskinus Declares:
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Joey for mixing it up a bit with the OSU-Michigan hockey game, and giving a nice zinger for the oddball game!
Michigan def. Ohio State: I wholeheartedly admit that I received outside advice and consultation by a likely future Guest Panelist with this pick. Another piece of information provided by the aforementioned future Guest Panelist: they (Michigan) won’t be playing with one of their defensive starters as he was mugged and injured in an off campus incident involving a walk-on of the football team. Shocking.
Texas def. Texas Tech: Gamblers, whatever the over/under is in this game, take the over. Don't pencil the Longhorns in for the BCS Championship Game just yet folks, as Oklahoma State nearly proved last week.
Florida def. Georgia: Attending this game is definitely on Nostrapigskinus' "Bucket List." Georgia's defense is a work in progress (i.e. the Alabama and LSU games, when they actually played teams with decent offenses), and the UF offense is now hitting on all cylinders now that they finally discovered that they have Parade All-Americans at the RB position. Plus, they have a Heisman-trophy winning Catholic missionary at QB. How could you go wrong?!
Minnesota def. Northwestern: Does anyone realize these teams are a combined 13-3?! Pretty impressive if you ask me. Are we looking at the two new beasts of the Big 10? My brain tells me no, but, it should be a fun game to watch nevertheless. Is there any sort of trophy/prize that goes to the winner of this game? Paul Bunyan's Ax? The Illibuck? The Wagon Wheel?
Appalachian St. def. Wofford: Not exactly a win of the magnitude of its upset of Michigan last season, but, it should put the Mountaineers in the driver's seat for the Southern Conference title.
Purdue def. Michigan: Joey comin' up the big-time zinger, I love it!!! I also love how Joey is keeping with the tradition of placing two inherently c**ptastic teams in the oddball game (b/c the App. State vs. Wofford game would clearly not have followed tradition). Going with Tiller's crew in this game because the game is at home, and they've played less c**ppy against good teams than the Wolverines have.
Pat Head’s Picks:
ReplyDelete1. Michigan over OSU: What the hell is hockey?? We don’t play that crazy sport in the south! I assume the further you head north the better the hockey team…so I’m goin’ with Michigan.
2. Texas over Texas Tech: I still think the longhorns can win this game. I predict Texas will lose, but it will be to some team they are supposed to beat at the end of the season…like the Baylor Bears!
3. Florida over Georgia: Not sure why…my gut tells me Florida will win. Should be a good game though.
4. Minnesota over Northwestern: The Golden Gophers…surprise of the Big 10…will win at home.
5. Appalachian St. over Wofford: Who the hell is Wofford?
6. Purdue over Michigan: Wow it’s a battle of the Big 10 losers. The Boilermakers will come out on top at home.
Hudy Delights

3. Georgia
4. Minnesota
5. Appalachian State

spamsandwichsan says... watching this texas tech game is almost as painfull as watching osu vs. penn state last week!
