Games for this week:
1. Ohio State vs. Northwestern
2. TCU vs. Utah (Thursday Night game)
3. Oklahoma St. vs. Texas Tech
4. California vs. USC
5. Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Southern Miss vs. UCF
1. Ohio State vs. Northwestern
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: I'll be there! Go Bucks!
2. TCU vs. Utah (Thursday Night game)
W-Utah: Both teams are about 8 spots over-rated.
3. Oklahoma St. vs. Texas Tech
W-Oklahoma St: Upset alert!! Tech is over confident and won't be able to overcome the halftime deficit.
4. California vs. USC
W-USC: Each USC player will tell you his girlfriend is an 'actress'. That's really just synonymous with 'waitress at Applebees'.
5. Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina
W-NC: I feel like I should pick GT, but this game is in NC so I'm going Tar Heels.
6. Southern Miss vs. UCF
W-UCF: UCF will pull a Katrina on Southern Miss. What? Too soon?

spamsandwichsan says... goin to merkle's to watch the browns on thursday 'cause NFL network sucks slightly more than the big ten network... who needs four channels of big ten sports... might be worth it if they played girls volley ball 24-hours a day... or men's beach volley ball with kenny loggins background music, stone washed blue jeans, and tons of tanning oil!
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Northwestern - northwestern will be on win hangover. plus, as long as the o-line can get back in the game (not sure if they have ever been 100% there), pryor should be able to get some rushing yards this week.
2. TCU over Utah - going with the horny toads! not sure why i picked them (i haven't really followed either team this year), but i'll probably be watching the browns loose instead (not sure why i'm watching or picking them as well!)
3. Texas Tech over Oklahoma St. - although they tried to loose against texas last week in the last quarter, i think they had a confidence boost and will hopefully be able to run with it. i was very impressed with their o-line, considering their combined weight (and probably horsepower) put my '95 civic to shame!
4. USC over California - not gonna pick the upset this time. i think USC has learned their lesson (how many times has cal pulled the upset?), and i don't they will let it happen this year (may come back to haunt me!)
5. North Carolina over Georgia Tech - i usually don't fall for the last minute win trick, as the game should have been secured long before the end of the 4th quarter. i think GT has a defense that can show up on critical plays, but I think NC defense will dominate, especially if Nesbitt doesn't play (why does that name remind me of a crappy eddie murphy movie title?).
6. Southern Miss over UCF - enie meanie miney mo... 'pick an oddball team', says joe.
Buckeye Cock says:
ReplyDelete1. OSU - Do you think that Tressel will still do the play calling next year?
2. Utah
3. OK State - They should have beat Texas, they will beat TT.
4. USC - I enjoy laughing at USC
5. UNC - Yeah
6. UCF
OLD BAG OF MAN PROCLAIMS:
ReplyDelete1) OSU. OLD BAG OF MAN WILL BE THERE (TOO COLD TO WEAR JUST A WALMART BAG) SO THERE IS NO WAY WE'RE GOING TO LOSE.
2) UTAH. THEY BEAT MICHIGAN SO THAT HAS TO COUNT FOR SOMETHING RIGHT?
3) TEXAS TECH. THEY WON'T LOSE THIS ONE BUT OKLAHOMA WILL GET THEM.
4) USC. THEY SAY THE BIG 10 IS DOWN, THEN HOW DOWN IS THE PAC-10?
5) GEORGIA TECH. NOT B-BALL SEASON JUST YET.
6) UCF. ROLLED SOME DICE.
Batman:
ReplyDelete1. OSU - However don't count out NW because they are having a great year thus far.
2. Utah - At home I've got to go with Utah even though they are a 1 point underdog.
3. TT - What a BCS jump.
4. USC - Won't lose again this year. The loss to Oregon State is inexplicable.
5. NC - developing into a nice ball club. Butch Davis is a better coach than Romeo Crennel.
6. Southern Miss

Nostrapigskinus Transcribes:
ReplyDeleteOhio State def. Northwestern: Believe it or not, but OSU and Northwestern have identical records entering this game. Alas, the Buckeyes will beat the Wildcats on the football field, but the Wildcats will beat the Buckeyes when it comes to being taxed in the higher federal income tax bracket! HA! We beat them in both regards!
TCU def. Utah: Does anyone realize that the MWC has 3 teams ranked in the top 15?! Pretty amazing feat, considering the Big East has 1 team ranked in the top 25, and the ACC has no teams ranked in the top 15. Apparently, this is a conference to be reckoned with. I go with the visitor in this one because their defense could probably hold their own with 1/2 of the defenses in the NFL.
Texas Tech def. Oklahoma St.: My Guest Panelist pick consultant recommended that I use the transitive property in picking the winner of this game. Texas beat Oklahoma State. Texas Tech beat Texas. Thus, Texas Tech should beat Oklahoma State, right? However, the way things have gone in the Big 12 this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cow-pokes pull the upset here.
USC def. California: As much as I'd like to see the upset here (since USC is now my LSU of 2008), ain't gonna happen. USC has outscored its last five opponents 207-27, i.e. an average score of 41-5. Think about that. How did this team EVER lose to Oregon State? Oh yea...the Beavers have a freshman RB named Jacquizz "The 'Quizz" Rodgers (i.e., my new #2 favorite college football player name, after the greatest all-time college football player name, Colt McCoy). THAT'S WHY!!!!
North Carolina def. Georgia Tech: A total coin-flip of a pick.
Southern Miss def. UCF: Joey, where's the zinger "oddball game" this week?! Anyways, Southern Miss. beat its last opponent (UAB) 70-14. And you think they're really going to lose to UCF? Puh-leeze.
1. Ohio State over Northwestern - Northwestern should be ashamed of the way we take over their stadium.
ReplyDelete2. Utah over TCU - I work with a guy from Boise State. I'd love to see Utah stay undefeated and keep an undefeated Boise State out of the BCS.
3. Texas Tech over Oklahoma State - I see the Red Raiders losing to Oklahoma. They could have a letdown this week after beating Texas, but I think they'll lock it up at home.
4. USC over Cal - USC's defense is too good.
5. Georgia Tech over North Carolina - North Carolina still isn't that good.
6. Southern Miss over Central Florida
Pat Head’s Picks:
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Northwestern: Ohio State wins big in the windy city…well practically the windy city.
2. TCU over Utah: When did the Mountain West and the Big 12 become the top conferences? Urban Meyer’s former team is not going to beat the Horned Frogs.
3. Texas Tech over Oklahoma State: This is a tough one. I think either team could win. So, I guess I’ll go with the home team at night. If Tech wins big, perhaps they’ll get the cursed No. 1 spot and then lose to Oklahoma. Perhaps.
4. USC over Cal: I don’t think USC will lose at home. I didn’t realize that Cal had switched quarterbacks. Q-back switches are deadly.
5. North Carolina over GT: Looks like the ACC is beating up on each other, much like the SEC and the Big 10 have done the last several years. I think NC will throw another upset in the mix by beating GT. The Yellow Jackets may have a q-b problem that will make winning in Chapel Hill difficult.
6. Southern Miss over UCF: UCF doesn’t look like it has much of an offense…I know how that goes, and you can’t win without an offense.
Hudy Delights picks this week
ReplyDeleteOSU over Northwestern
Utah over TCU
OK State over texas tech
USC over Cal
UNC over Ga Tech
So miss over UCF
