THIS IS THE LAST WEEK FOR THE REGULAR SEASON
Games for this week:
1. Boston College vs. Virginia Tech
2. Navy vs. Army
3. Alabama vs. Florida
4. Missouri vs. Oklahoma
5. South Florida vs. West Virginia
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Western Kentucky vs. Florida International (Tie Breaker-Total points scored)
11 comments:
1. Boston College over Virginia Tech - For the last few weeks of the season, this looked like the only team interested in winning the ACC.
2. Navy over Army - Army is still several years away from being competitive in this one.
3. Alabama over Florida - I am among the group of people thinking that Florida is playing the best football in the country right now. That said, Alabama is still undefeated and has been hearing for a month how they will lose to Florida.
4. Missouri over Oklahoma - Anyone remember the 2003 Big XII Championship? The Sooners got smoked by an inferior K State team. Missouri is better than that. For the record, Texas should be in this game.
5. West Virginia over South Florida - I really don't know who's good in this conference. UC is going to the BCS, for cryin' out loud.
6.Western Kentucky over Florida International (59 points) - Go Hilltoppers!
Mr. Potato Head
1. Boston College vs. Virginia Tech
W-BC
2. Navy vs. Army
W-Navy: Insert funny seaman joke here.
3. Alabama vs. Florida
W-Florida: Florida wins in the upset but I sure hope Teebow doesn't win the Heisman.
4. Missouri vs. Oklahoma
W-Oklahoma: Will this be as lopsided as Oklahoma vs Texas Tech?
5. South Florida vs. West Virginia
W-WV
6. Western Kentucky vs. Florida International (Tie Breaker-Total points scored)
W-Western Kentucky: Total 28 points scored
Hudy Delights Picks o the Week
BC over Virginia Tech
Navy over Army
Florida over Bama
Oklahoma over Mizzou
West Viriginia over S. Florida
Fl Intl. over Western KY - 42 total points scored
Buckeye Cock says:
Good show y'all!
1. VT
2. Navy
3. Florida
4. OK
5. WVU
6. FIU - 73 points
OLD BAG OF MAN NEEDS A MIRACLE:
1) VA TECH. WORST CHAMPIONSHIP GAME EVER.
2) NAVY. IN THE NAVY SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING. IN THE NAVY.
3) FLORIDA. OH THE TOUGH SEC IS DOWN AND THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE CRITICISM.
4) OKLAHOMA. SECOND REASON WHY CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES ARE A BUNCH OF...
5) WV. FUNNY, WV IS 7-4 AND MICHIGAN IS DONE FOR THE SEASON.
6) FL INT. NOT SURE WHAT A HILLTOPPER IS BUT I'VE SEEN THE MASCOT AND IT DOESN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION. SCORE POINTS...69. HA HA HA.
Pat Head's Picks:
1. Virginia Tech over BC: The Hokies will do it again and screw BC out of a BCS birth!
2. Navy over Army: I like naval men better than army men! Wait, am I supposed to be a lesbian? I forget.
3. Florida over Bama: I want Bama to win, but I just don't think they can pull it off against the Gators. They haven't gotten much respect all season, though, so you can bet they'll be fired up.
4. Missouri over Oklahoma: So no matter what I do on this game, Missouri will do the opposite. So, I'm calling the upset.
5. South Florida over West Virginia: The "BIG" in Big East stands for: Blundering, Inconsistent Games. I love UC, but their games against both of these of these teams were at times very ugly. Whoever has the ball last will win and I think that'll be USF b/c they have a better defense than WVU.
6. Florida International over Western Kentucky: I got screwed when I picked the Hilltoppers earlier this season, so I'm pickin' against 'em. Not that I'm gonna need a tie breaker, but total points will be 62.

LITTLE BIG DOG SEZ.....Western Kentucky 31-21 ~ 52 Total Points
Batman believes this is most likely the end of an era. But I acknowledge Hudy as an excellent picker who makes great decisions in the clutch and truly is deserving of the title this season (barring an incredible disaster).
One last shot at this last week needing to overcome 2 games...
1. Boston College
2. Navy
3. Alabama
4. Oklahoma
5. West Virginia
6. FI points 51
I am going to watch ALA vs FLA. Can ALA go perfect? Will FLA be too strong? It is going to be a great contest with 2 great teams.
Oklahoma just looks too good to lose...but they never seem to get the big one (in recent times and bowls).
Thankfully this year the oddballs haven't killed me. When its all said and done, I might go back and see what % i picked for the oddballs.
That gives me an idea for Moderator Neff. Best winning % for oddball games. Of course, another t-shirt is provided to the winner.
Good luck to all it has been a fun season.
Philly Cheese
Boston College
Navy
Alabama
Oklahoma
West Virginia
Florida International
Nostrapigskinus Pontificates (I think that's a word that relates to predicting outcomes of events, right?):
Congrats to Hudy Dee-lights for coming up BIG at the end of the season to end up with the (likely) regular season title. Color me impressed with the 11-1 showing the last 2 weeks. But as they say, it's a whole different ballgame in the post-season. The rest of the Guest Panel is gunnin' for ya Hudy!!!
Boston College def. Virginia Tech: Even though BC is without their normal starting QB, and I'm a big Hokies fan (hooray for the Hokie Pokie!), this is not the same VTech team that we know and love. When you struggle to beat Duke and UVA (both at home), and lose to BC earlier in the season (and it was only as close as it was b/c VTech had two INT returns for TDs), it's just not your season to be the ACC champ. My sincere apologies to Frank Beamer & Co.
Navy def. Army: When two teams play every year in a rivalry game, and one team hasn't beaten the other team since 2001, it's not really a rivalry much anymore, is it? Am I right, Michigan?!? Middies in a romp.
Florida def. Alabama: The outcome will definitely be decided based on Percy Harvin's ankle. If he's somewhat healthy, even being used as a decoy, Florida. If he's not healthy and isn't used at all, go with Alabama. My money says he plays, gets about 10-15 touches, scores 1-2 TDs, and we see (unfortunately for us Buckeye fans) the Gators playing for the national title again.
Oklahoma def. Missouri: I won't get into how Texas got robbed out of participating in this game, but come on BCS, really??? Unfortunately, my boy McCoy will be left to rooting for Chase Daniel & Co. to pull off the upset in order to have a chance at playing for the national title, which isn't going to happen.
West Virginia def. South Florida: The Big East shouldn't even really be a BCS Conference anyways; that title should be given to the Mountain West Conference this year (and coming from someone that attended graduate school at a Big East Conference school).
Florida International def. Western Kentucky: If this was men's basketball, I'd go with WKU. Since it's not, I'll go with FIU 30, WKU 20. Total points scored = 50.
spamsandwichsan says... too much turkey!!
1. Virginia Tech over Boston College - pretty even match up, but as everyone already know, i gotta pick against BC.
2. Navy over Army - the navy has much cooler Sousa marches, which makes me a proud to be a brasswind (everyone knows bassoon's make the best firewood)! i've always found it fun to run around the house blasting the trombone at my dog, but now i have a daughter that finds it equally amusing!
3. Alabama over Florida - man, once again this might bite me in the ass! alabama should be able to hold tebow out of the endzone. if not, this will definately be a shootout (not to be confused with the self inflicted gunshot wound that recently happened to Burress in a NYC night club... he was wearing sweat pants in a club?!?? was he at the private dancer?)
4. Oklahoma over Missouri - i'm sure everyone wants the upset, but it's not looking so good for mizzou. plus a night game at oklahoma? no chance! i usually would pick the underdog and end up loosing, but i gotta make a last ditch effort in the standings!
5. West Virginia over South Florida - looks like Pat White is capable of playing football without Rodriguez at the helm. plus, nothing good comes out of morgan town at night, unless you find a bar that sells Schaefer for $1.25 a can!
6. Florida International over Western Kentucky (total points 46) - hilltoppers? i'm voting against them based on this. i understand there are lots of hills in the area, but you don't have to make the back-woods hillbilly your mascot! is dueling banjo's their fight song, or do they squeel the pig sound on each touchdown (like the penn state lion snarl)??
