4. North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
5. Mississippi vs. South Carolina (Thursday)
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Bethune-Cook. vs. Norfolk St.
Hudy Delights Picks for the week.
ReplyDeleteOSU over IL
Mich St over Wisconsin
Northwestern over Minn
Ga Tech over UNC
S Carolina upsetting Ole Miss
Beth Cook over Norfolk St
Buckeye Cock says:
ReplyDeleteWow! I think this is the first time the Cock has reached the "climax." The Cock is looking forward to "growing" his lead.
1. Ohio State - It appears that Juice needs to start using some Juice. Two years ago Juice came in to C-bus and crashed the party--not so fast, Juice. Buckeyes win big.
2. Wisconsin - Even though they should have lost the Fresno State game, I'll go with the undefeated Badgers at home.
3. Minnesota - Go Gophers!
4. Georgia Tech - The bees or hornets or whatever they are bounce back against a tough NC defense.
5. Ole Miss - I'm not sure if Miss. is as good as their ranking. We'll see on the road.
6. Norfolk St - B-C has no offense. Sorry Harry Chance but I'll take the Hurricanes over the Hokey Pokey all day.
Big Dog sez:
ReplyDeleteGames for this week:
1. Illinois vs. Ohio State
OSU soundly beats the Fighting Illini!
2. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
Badgers take it right to the Spartans winning a close one.
3. Minnesota vs. Northwestern
Northwestern in a mild win.
4. North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
North Carolina loses to a sound Georgia Tech team.
5. Mississippi vs. South Carolina (Thursday)
Mississippi will take this down to the wire and upset the Gamecocks.
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Bethune-Cook. vs. Norfolk St.
Bethune Cookman University has to win, its Homecoming!
1. Illinois vs. Ohio State
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: Which Ohio State offense will show up to this game?
2. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
W-Michigan State:
3. Minnesota vs. Northwestern
W-Minnesota: I was in Minnesota last weekend and would not recommend anyone else ever going there.
4. North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
W-North Carolina:
5. Mississippi vs. South Carolina
W-Mississippi: Does anyone else enjoy typing "Mississippi" as much as I do? Such a cool word.
6. Bethune-Cook. vs. Norfolk St.
W-BC: Are these high schools?
Old Bag of Man is gonna rip his bag if he keeps sliding in the standings.
ReplyDelete1) Revenge! OSU will not let a repeat of 2 years ago happen. OSU wins.
2) This is a battle of 2 Big 10 teams that have played like MAC teams. Wisconsin wins.
3) Yikes. Another MAC-tastic like matchup. Minnesota wins.
4) Georgia Tech let me down last week. So I will pick them again because I have not learned a thing.
5) Even though they are possible overrated, Ole Miss wins.
6) Not quite sure a school should have a hyphen in the name. Norfolk St. wins.
Batman
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State
2. Wisconsin
3. Northwestern
4. Georgia Tech
5. Mississippi
6. Bethune-Cook.
Loved last week, but this week's games are so much more challenging.
I'll be satisfied with a 4-2 week, overjoyed with a 5-1, shocked if I hit 12 in a row with another 6-0 week. Don't forget to elbow bump during cold and flu season.
OSU vs. Illinois
ReplyDeleteThis will be the redemption game for the last time Illinois came to the Shoe (I was there and it was a game to forget) That added to the slap-in-the-face from the drop in the polls (thanks to USC’s sucking anywhere North and West of the Coliseum at least once a year) will be motivation enough to spank the Illini.
Mississippi vs. South Carolina
I watched one SC game this year and they managed to stink it up offensively. Ole-Miss will cover the spread and then some!!! Their #4 ranking will stay intact for another two weeks….until the Rebels meet their projected Game-Day opponent: #3 Alabama.
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State
Badgers win because anybody who loses to Notre Dame is on my sh*t-list for the remainder of the season. If I could kick one person in the groin right now it would be Kirk Cousins who managed to drive the Spartans within game-tying field goal range and then throw the mother of all interceptions.
Minnesota vs. Northwestern
On a similar note – Minnesota will beat Northwestern because the Wildcats managed to lose to Syracuse. Still it should be a fairly close game, but the Gophers (who went toe-to-toe with Cal last week up until about half-way through the 4th quarter) will pull away in the end.
North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
The Tarheels’ stout defense headed by the number-one recruit 3 years ago, Marvin Austin, will shut down the option attack of Georgia Tech IN Atlanta. Gasp!! Figuring that since Nebraska ALMOST and should have beat VTECH last week, this will be my CORRECT weekly upset pick!
Bethune-Cookman vs. Norfolk State
Not to be mistaken for their Big10 counterparts, the Wildcats and the Spartans of the MEAC will meet at Price Stadium where Norfolk State will taste sweet victory…they've won 1 more game than Cookman AND scored more points this season AND it's at home.
1. Ohio State over Illinois
ReplyDelete2. Wisconsin over Michigan State
3. Minnesota over Northwestern
4. Georgia Tech over North Carolina
5. Mississippi over South Carolina
6. Bethune-Cookman over Norfolk State
Professor BadAss grades out the games for Week #4:
ReplyDeleteOhio State def. Illinois: The Juice will not be loose.
Wisconsin def. Michigan State: A home game at Camp Randall is on the Professor's sports "bucket list". "Jump Around", the 5th quarter, State Street, bratwursts, cheese, Leininkugel's, what more could you want?!?! Oh yea...a football team that's consistent season to season!!!
Minnesota def. Northwestern: Northwestern lost to the Professor's alma mater, Syracuse (and its former Duke point guard quarterback), last week. Need I say more?
North Carolina def. Georgia Tech: The Professor isn't going to bet his Emeritus status on this one. Definitely the toss up game of the week. This game gets the Professor's "A+" grade of the week (although if Miami vs. VTech was a Guest Panel game this week, that would definitely have taken UNC-GTech's place).
Mississippi def. South Carolina: Since when did Ole Miss have a good football team?!?! I mean, they got gorgeous Southern belle co-eds sipping on mint juleps wearing sundresses in The Grove, but, that certainly does not a football team make. But, they do have Snead and Dexter "The Molester" McCluster, and that should be enough to beat the "Ol'er" Ballcoach.
Norfolk State def. Bethune-Cookman: If a football game is played, but nobody sees it, did it actually take place?
Philly Cheese
ReplyDeleteOhio State
Wisconsin
Minnesota
North Carolina
Mississippi
Bethune-Cook.
Pat Head's Picks:
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Illinois
2. Wisconsin over Michigan State: Last week may have been an ego boost for the Spartans, but I really don't think the Irish are that good. Wisconsin wins at home.
3. Minnesota over Northwestern: I'm basing this pick on the fact that both teams played Syracuse. One came out a winner, one a loser. I'm going w/ the winner.
4. Georgia Tech over UNC: Just going w/ the home team.
5. Mississippi over South Carolina: I have a feeling I may regret this pick. I doubt Ole Miss is as good as the pollsters have said, but South Carolina just ain't that impressive, even at home. I predict, Ole Miss in a squeaker.
6. Norfolk St. over Bethune Cook.: Way to go Joe! You have found another school I have never, ever heard of.
spamsandwichsan says... comin' in late thursday with the last minute picks!
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over Illinois - go bucks!
2. Wisconsin over Michigan
3. Minnesota over Northwestern
4. North Carolina over Georgia Tech - overdue for a win! (or the odds are against them, however you look at it!)
5. Mississippi over South Carolina - still hate gamecocks, especially when the stadium will be filled with them!
6. Norfolk St. over Bethune-Cook - thought it said 'cockman' at first glance... that would be a great mascot! and at least norfolk st. has scored a touch down this season! reminds me of the freakin browns last year!
Spamsandwichsan says..
ReplyDeleteEspnu replayed the bethune-cook norfolk st game at 10:30 sat night! It finally pays off to have HD package with DVR! Aww, look... Their field has a track around it... How cute!!
