27. Wisconsin - line is TCU by 2.5?? right.... TCU will not be able to stop this caliber of running game... maybe a slow start, but i look for badgers to open this one up in the fourth

Brigham Young def. Texas-El Paso: There's always to be said for the first bowl game of the season..are these first few games considered to be "oddball games," per the Guest Panel Moderator's definition? I'll have to see if there are any games involving the directional Michigan schools. Those are the Moderator's favorites. As for this game, I'll go with the soon-to-be independent Mormons over the conference geographically misplaced Miners.
2. uDrove Humanitarian Bowl
Northern Illinois def. Fresno State: Even though the Huskies lost their head coach to Minnesota (i.e. the cemetery of college football head coaches), Carl thinks that they show a little "corazon" and beat the Bulldogs. But Bulldog head coach Pat Hill will always win the battle of best mustache, which is really the most victory to be had, after all.
3. R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
Troy def. Ohio: There was a time earlier this year that Carl and the Hair were going to be attending this game together, and enjoying everything that is the Big Easy. As I've said previously, the Guest Panelists aren't just colleagues and competitors, we're also friends.

Boise State def. Utah: Carl is still in complete and utter shock that Boise State lost a game this season. If one looks at the stats, there's no way that they should have even come close to losing a game. They're like the UConn women's basketball team of college football. Well, not quite, but durn close. Then again, of course all of those fancy stats don't account for a manic-depressive schizophrenic placekicker.
6. SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl
San Diego State def. Navy: I know it's un-American (i.e. un-Carlian) to pick against the Midshipmen, but, it's a home game for the Aztecs, and well, San Diego is a pretty nice place to be.
7. Sheraton Hawaii Bowl
Hawaii def. Tulsa: For those of you degenerate penniless gamblers that read the Buckeye Pregame Blogspot for gambling purposes only (i.e. 99.9% of you, including yours truly), take the over in this game.
8. Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Toledo def. Florida International: Congrats Toledo and Florida International! Your reward for outstanding turnaround seasons: a trip to Detroit at the end of December!!! I sure hope that the schwag bags for this bowl include a lifetime supply of Little Caesar's, and a military grade Kevlar bulletproof vest. BTW, just a thought: it'd be pretty hilarious if IBM or Berkshire Hathaway or some company like that was the sponsor of this game. Just imagine, the Ernst & Young Pizza Bowl...that'd be spectacular.

West Virginia def. North Carolina State: Carl sure hopes that the WVU mascot, that crazy Davy Crockett lookin' guy, gets on camera a lot during the TV broadcast of this game. Carl would love to attend this game, for the simple fact that there will be probably be at least 15,000 drunken, rowdy, redneck WVU fans running around Orlando/Disney World. Sounds like a fun time!

Missouri def. Iowa: Since basically all of Iowa's starting offense is suspended for this game, the Tigers should have a pretty easy game on their hands, so sayeth Carl.

Maryland def. East Carolina: Even though Carl is a huge fan of Pirates in general (in every way, shape, and form), they get beaten out by the Fightin' Terrapins in this bowl game.

Baylor def. Illinois: Practically a home game for the Bears in Houston. Don't expect a lot of defense to be played in this game folks; for the gambling degenerates, go with the over.

Oklahoma State def. Arizona: The law firm of Hunter, Blackmon, and Weeden beats the law firm of, well, is there even a law firm in Arizona?

Nebraska def. Washington: According to espn.com, Holiday Bowl officials were "forced" to pick Washington to play in this game when no other Pac-10 conference teams were eligible. That's never a good sign.

Notre Dame def. Miami (FL): On the subject of teams that are always highly ranked at the beginning of the season, go 2-2 to begin the season, and then struggle to 6 D-1 wins to become bowl eligible? And the U is an even better example than Clemson or Pittsburgh, since their team includes Jacory "Impending INT" Harris.

Carl is personally somewhat conflicted in this game, although his obvious loyalties lie with the Buckeyes, the 'Backs QB Mallett is Carl's official college football man crush for the 2010 season. Decisions, decisions...

Miami (OH) def. Middle Tenn.: How the h*ll did this game get thrown in here this late in the bowl season?!?! Who the h*ll cares if the GoDaddy.com girl be making numerous appearances before, during, and after the game wearing next to nothing?!?!

Texas A&M def. Louisiana State: Is picking against a team just based on spite for its head coach a good reason for making a particular selection? Maybe, maybe not...but Carl hates himself some Les Miles. Go Aggies!

Pittsburgh def. Kentucky: This game is basically one of the most ridiculous (and hence, difficult to pick) of the entire bowl season. Carl thinks that the Panthers send Dave "Just Wait Until Next Year" Wannstedt out on a winning note.
34. Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl
Nevada def. Boston College: Carl actually saw the Eagles play live in person this season, and they're not that good. At least not bowl game on Jan. 9 (WTF?!?!) good.
35. Tostitos BCS National Championship Game
Oregon def. Auburn: Simply put, the Tigers won too many games by the hair of their chinny chin chins this season for Carl's liking. The Ducks, meanwhile, have Lee Corso on their side. 'Nuff said.
