Things to Watch

So Who Is Playing This Week?
Defensive lineman Nathan Williams is still expected to be out due to his knee surgery a few weeks ago. Receiver Philly Brown may play on Saturday, after missing multiple games due to his ankle sprain, but he is not 100%. Until Monday's announcement we expected to see Boom Herron, DeVier Posey, Solomon Thomas, and Mike Adams. Both Thomas and Adams are available this week. Solomon Thomas has been banged up, so he may not see playing time on the D-Line, but he is no longer under suspension. Mike Adams will return and provide much needed help at left tackle on the O-Line. The O-Line will be shifted with Adams return.

Geronimo!
It was revealed Monday that Herron, Posey, and OL Marcus Hall were overpaid for work done for the now infamous Bobby DiGeronimo (yes the same DiGeronimo involved in the charity scandal earlier this season.) There were no timesheets, so OSU had to estimate the overpaid amounts based on money paid and estimated time worked. Also, it was reported to the NCAA that Posey played a free round of golf with Dennis Talbott, a name that was thrown around with allegations involving Terrelle Pryor. OSU considers the players ineligible, and the NCAA must reinstatement them before they can play. If the NCAA agrees on the amount of money overpaid, Herron would likely only miss one game, Hall would also miss only one game, and Posey could miss three or more games.

Costly Onside Kick Attempt

Also out this week is Verlon Reed, who tore his ACL in the onside kick attempt at the end of the Michigan State game. He will miss the rest of the season.
