The Series

This is the second game in this series, with Florida leading 1-0. Fans of both teams won't ever forget the 2007 Championship game, when a heavily favored Ohio State team with the Heisman Trophy winner, lost 41-14 in an ugly fashion to a hungry Florida team. Ohio State came out the gates strong with a 93-yard kickoff return TD by Ted Ginn Jr., but unfortunately he was hurt when celebrating the touchdown and he didn't make it back into the game. Florida responded with two touchdown drives in the first quarter, putting the score at 14-7. Early in the second quarter Florida and Ohio State had touchdown runs, with a score of 21-14. After that, Florida put the pedal down and scored 20 unanswered points to close out the game. Florida rushed for 156 compared to 47 yards for Ohio State. Florida had 214 passing yards and Ohio State had 35. Troy Smith had a rough day, going 4 of 14 with one interception.
