OSU Last Week

Ohio State had a slow start offensively, with only 17 yards of offense on 13 plays in the entire first quarter. At the end of the first quarter Ohio State was down 14-7 with its only touchdown coming off Bradley Roby's interception and touchdown return. Nebraska scored two touchdowns in the first quarter with Ameer Abdullah running in two short touchdowns from inside the five yard line. OSU attempted a fake punt, but Ben Buchanan was not able to convert for a first down on his six yard run. Nebraska scored first in the second quarter with an early 26-yard field goal, taking a larger lead of 17-7. Ohio scored on four possessions in the second quarter with two rushing touchdowns by Hyde, a touchdown pass to Jeff Heuerman, and a rushing touchdown by Braxton Miller. Nebraska only scored one touchdown in that span, a 9 yard run by QB Taylor Martinez. Ohio State led 35-24 at halftime.
 
In the third quarter Nebraska scored on its first possession, a 3-yard pass to Ben Cotton. Halfway through the third quarter Ohio State scored on Hyde's third rushing touchdown. Later in the quarter Corey Brown returned a punt 76-yard for a touchdown. Ohio State scored first in the fourth quarter, as Rod Smith showed his running skills with a 33-yard burst for a touchdown. Nebraska scored on a 2-yard run by Martinez late in the fourth quarter. Ohio State took possession and drove down the field again and scored on Hyde's fourth rushing touchdown. Miller was 7 of 14 for 127 passing yards and rushed for a career high 186 yards. The OSU defense intercepted the ball three times off Taylor Martinez, who had thrown only one interception prior to this game.
