Coaches resurrecting dormant programs, only to jumps ship once they finally reach a bowl game? Million dollar buyouts of contracts all over America? Teams with losing conference records (we're looking at you, Golden Gophers) playing in a bowl game? A New Years Day game with two teams combining for a record of 13-11? But Lord knows, a few poor black kids sell their trophies for some tattoos, lets treat that school like its some genocidal, third world dictatorship...

Gotta love the NCAA...

Arizona
Utah State
San Diego State
UCF
UL Lafayette
Washington - but watch how Boise dupes two TDs out of the gullible U-Dubs defense
Fresno State
Central Michigan
San Jose State
Cincinnati
UCLA
ULM - Talk about a Sports Illustrated jinx. OUs ship has sunk...
Virginia Tech - Rutgers couldn't beat a one legged QB in their season finale
Texas Tech
Rice
West Virginia
Arizona State
Oregon State
Michigan State
Vandy
USC
Iowa State
LSU
Oklahoma State
Mississippi State
Georgia
South Carolina
Stanford
Florida State
Florida

Texas A&M
Ole Miss
Arkansas State
Alabama

37 points in the tiebreaker.

Got the SEC winning em all, with the Big Ten (except for the Top Two) winning only one (and that's gonna be iffy...), and the MAC only getting one win. Dennis Downer, signing off...

Batman's Rose Bowl Tie Breaker is 53.

Also took a big dive in the regular season standings.

Hope was still there and if I would have gone 6-0 in the final week, I would have won. But the dogs didn't come through.

It's a different feeling going into this bowl season without Ohio State and Penn State. Just don't care quite as much.

Good luck to the panel!

Post 1 of 2

1.Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Arizona def. Nevada: Arizona has the leading rusher in the entire nation. Nevada does not. They ONLY have the 2nd leading rusher in the entire nation. What a bunch of losers.

2.Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Utah State def. Toledo: Not sure why this bowl has earned the nickname of being “famous,” but whatever. Potatoes are pretty awesome, in any form. Going with the Aggies here because they’re ranked, and their QB is named Chuckie. Anyone with the nickname of Chuckie and has made it as far in life as this guy has, has Funtik’s respect.

3.Poinsettia Bowl
San Diego State def. BYU: Tough game to pick; after all, BYU did lose to Notre Dame by a FG. But, this is a default home for the Aztecs, so, home field advantage wins out over the luck o’ the Mormons.

4.Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl
Ball State def. UCF: The Fightin’ David Lettermans win a close game over the Mickey Mouses.

5.R+L Carriers New Orleans
UL Lafayette def. East Carolina: A game involving Funtik’s two favorite FBS college football team nicknames, in one of Funtik’s favorite cities in the world!!! Does life get any more grand?!?! Oh yes…a Buckeye Pregame Bowl Season Guest Panel championship, that’s how!

6.MAACO Bowl Las Vegas
Boise State def. Washington: In spite of the fact that Funtik the Hog’s College Football Hog Crush of the 2011 season (Kellen Moore) no longer plays for the Smurf Turfs, they still somehow find a way to win this game.

7.Sheraton Hawaii Bowl
Fresno State def. SMU: Remember when Fresno State was THE mid-major college football team in the early ‘00s? So does SMU.

8.Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Central Michigan def. Western Kentucky: For Mr. Moderator, a special bowl game involving a directional Michigan team, AND a directional team from his neighboring state. He will have a wide smile on his face for the entirety of this game.

9.Military Bowl
San Jose State def. Bowling Green: The Moderator seems to think that San Diego State is playing in this game instead of San Jose State. Too much of your own special homemade holiday brew there, Mr. Moderator?

10.Belk Bowl
Cincinnati def. Duke: Just look at the opponent. And no, this is not men’s basketball. Easy choice.

11.Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl
UCLA def. Baylor: A really tough game to pick. UCLA, despite on much less of a roll than Baylor right now, lost 4 games the entire season, two of them to Stanford in a span of six days, and in one of those games they had nothing to play for. There’s no shame in losing to the Rose Bowl representative and conqueror of Oregon. Whichever team has the ball last wins this game.

12.AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl
ULM def. Ohio: Wasn’t ULM a de facto SEC conference team this season? They certainly played better than Auburn and Arkansas for most of the season.

13.Russell Atheltic Bowl
Rutgers def. Virginia Tech: Rutgers was one game away from losing to Florida in a BCS bowl game. VA Tech, despite being one of Funtik’s favorite teams, struggled mightily all season, and had to scrap and claw its way to a bowl game.

14.Meineke Car Care Bowl
Texas Tech def. Minnesota: Texas Tech, still one of the coolest logos in all of college football. Based on that fact alone, they win this game.

15.Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
Air Force def. Rice: Thankfully, a service academy is properly placed in a military-oriented bowl game. And as such, the service academy actually wins said bowl game.

16.New Era Pinstripe Bowl
West Virginia def. Syracuse: Funtik picking against one of his alma maters. The wild, crazy, and likely intoxicated Mountaineers won’t soon forget the beatdown that the Orange laid upon them in their last season as a member of the Big East conference. Syracuse will have a big de facto home field advantage though.

Funtik the Hog said...

Post 2 of 3

17.Kraft Fight Hunger
Arizona State def. Navy: Shouldn’t Navy automatically be playing in one of those military-oriented bowl games?

18.Valero Alama Bowl
Oregon State def. Texas: Texas has been a thorn in Funtik’s side all Guest Panel season, missing (either way) on most of the games that we’ve been assigned to pick for them. Here’s yet another huge middle finger to the Longhorns and Mack Brown

19.Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
TCU def. Michigan State: The most delicious bowl game of them all!

20.Music City Bowl
Vanderbilt def. NC State: I am going to abide by my strict rule in picking games for the entire bowl season – when in doubt, pick for the SEC, and pick against the ACC. Those two rules apply themselves nicely in this game.

21.Hyundai Sun Bowl
USC def. Georgia Tech: Why was Georgia Tech allowed to play in a bowl game again, let alone a halfway decent one?

22.AutoZone Liberty Bowl
Tulsa def. Iowa State: This is purely a gut pick, especially because Iowa State had a convincing victory over Tulsa in the season opener.

23.Chick-fil-A Bowl
LSU def. Clemson: Please see my Music City Bowl comment above.

24.Heart of Dallas Bowl
Oklahoma State def. Purdue: The Cowboys were a deceptively good team this year that suffered some close losses to very highly ranked teams. The Boilermakers were not deceptively average, and that is why their former head coach is now unemployed.

25.TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl
Northwestern def. Mississippi State: I know I’m going against my SEC rule here, but, Miss. State won all of its games against teams not participating in bowl games. Once they started playing big boy teams, well, we all saw what happened.

26.Capital One Bowl
Georgia def. Nebraska: Georgia was a tipped pass and some poor clock management away from playing for the national championship, and they get relegated to a second tier New Year’s Day bowl game. Take the Bulldogs, and the points, in this game.

27.Outback Bowl
South Carolina def. Michigan: Loyal readers of the Guest Panel should know of my total lack of respect for Shoelace Robinson. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t respect the Wolverine football program, I just think that Robinson is the most overrated college football player of the last half decade. That trend continues here in his last collegiate football game. Look for him to have a wonderful Eric Crouch-esque career in the NFL.

28.Rose Bowl (total points: 48)
Stanford def. Wisconsin: Is it just me, or are all the BCS bowl games much easier to pick than the lesser pre-New Year’s Day games?

29.Discover Orange Bowl
Florida State def. Northern Illinois: Hey Huskies, you tried and you were successful, and that’s all you can really ask for. Plus, you’ll be getting a nice big check after the game as well.

30.Allstate Sugar Bowl
Florida def. Louisville: Funtik has disrespected Florida all season, and (to an extent) somewhat rightly so. Against a pretty mediocre Big East champion though, they show Funtik and everyone else in the country that they are once again a team to be feared in the SEC and the country at large.

31.Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
Oregon def. Kansas State: Take the over in the game, whatever it might be. The Duck will be doing a lot of push-ups in this one!

32.AT&T Cotton Bowl
Texas A&M def. Oklahoma: The Aggies are friggin’ stacked – they have at least three high 1st round 2013 NFL Draft picks in Joeckel, Moore, and Matthews, plus the redshirt freshman Heisman Trophy winner. Sheesh! Tell me how this team lost two games again???

33.BBVA Compass Bowl
Ole Miss def. Pittsburgh: How do bowl games like this somehow get thrown in after the first wave of the BCS bowl games and before the national championship game? Funtik’s “when in doubt” rule also applies to the Big East versus the SEC as well.

34.GoDaddy.com Bowl
Kent State def. Arkansas State: The Golden Flashes (one of the weirder college football team nicknames in the country; but what do you really expect from Kent Read, Kent Write, Kent State?) were a double OT loss from potentially losing to Florida State in a BCS bowl game. Incidentally, both coaches will be coached by interim replacement head coaches. I guess that’s what happens when you’re a mid major team and you have a really good season, and you’re located geographically near a BCS bowl conference team that had a poor season.

35.BCS National Championship
Alabama def. Notre Dame: In yesterday’s news, the SEC wins yet another national championship.
