Scouting the Nittany Lions

Penn State enters this game 4-2 (1-1 Big Ten) with victories against Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Michigan. The Nittany Lions have losses against UCF and Indiana. PSU averages 157 rushing yards/game, 283 passing yards/game, and 33 points/game. The defense allows 23 points/game, 117 rushing yards/game, and 218 passing yards/game.

Offense
True freshman quarterback Christian Hackenberg has completed 58% for 1672 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Reciever Allen Robinson leads the team with 705 yards, averaging an impressive 16.4 yards/reception. There are a number of receivers available to Hackenburg, but the closest in total yards is Brandon Felder with only 232 yards. Penn State running game involves multiple running backs including Zach Zwinak, Bill Belton, and Akeel Lynch. Belton scored the game winning touchdown in the fourth overtime against Michigan.

Defense
Leading the team in tackles is Glenn Carson with 49. The defensive line is anchored by defensive tackle DeQuan Jones. The other defensive end, C.J. Olaniyan was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his eight tackles and 2.5 sacks against Michigan.
