  6. Years ago, an experiment was done where monkeys picked the stock market better than the majority of fund managers did. That said...
    ...W.T!!!!

OSU, 24-17. Virginia a Tech has not won a big game since last decade. That continues, as Frank Beamer further becomes college football's version of Jim O'Brien in college hoops. Special team play, schmecial team play...
USC: Sarkisian's D plays just a little tougher vs a green Stanford Offense
Oregon: Play this in November and every good defense will have caught up to the Duck attack. Alas for Sparty, we are just into September...
Notre Dame: Oldest cliche ever ends with this game--"I hope both teams lose"
Texas: Charlie Strong wins this game that Mack Brown couldn't last year

North Texas: I watched the ponies flounder vs Baylor last week. Going w the Mean Green...

Wow, if this is what week 2 looks like in the "Playoff Era" I approve!

    1. Ohio State over Virginia Tech - The Buckeyes got their feet wet last weekend in Baltimore but will jump all the way into the pool Saturday night at home.
    2. USC over Stanford - People seem to think that USC is back, so I'll go with them.
    3. Oregon over Michigan State - I really wanted to take Sparty, but Oregon is solid this year and always tough to beat at home.
    4. Michigan over Notre Dame - UM gets the win in this game's final chapter (for now).
    5. Texas over BYU - Hook 'em.
    6. North Texas over SMU - North Texas scored last week, so I'll go with the Mean Green.

    2. USC vs. Stanford - Stanford (and Son)

    3. Michigan State vs. Oregon - Oregon

    4. Michigan vs. Notre Dame - ND

    5. BYU vs. Texas - Texas - such a pathetic game that even ESPN didn't waste their time with a pre-game preview!!

  11. Week #2 of the Guest Panel, and Funtik is already 1 game behind our leader. As we've seen in seasons past though, the Guest Panel standings can change significantly from one week to the next. This is a huge week for the Guest Panelists, as the Moderator has selected many a game that could conceivably go either way. Onto this week's picks...and stay tuned next week, as Funtik will reveal his College Football Man Crush for the 2014 season.

OSU def. Virginia Tech: Funtik's favorite college football team plays his third favorite college football team. If money and time were not objects, Funtik would be in the Horseshoe on Saturday night, enjoying this game live in hog. Instead, he had to settle for attending the game vs. Navy last week in Baltimore. Baltimore may be much closer to home for Funtik than Columbus, but the chances of getting shot and contracting a venereal disease are much greater in BMore than in CBus. I know I am taking the easy way out again this week, but mark this game down as Funtik the Hog's Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage Pick of the Week #2 (1-0 record in such games thus far this season; thank you Devin Smith!).

Stanford def. USC: The Moderator selected some mighty tough games for the Guest Panel this week; kudos my friend, kudos. Funtik is still in love with Stanford coach David Shaw and thinks he'll be the biggest difference in the entire game. Funtik still finds it shocking that he's (Shaw) not wearing Tampa Bay Buccaneer orange creamsicle or Buffalo Bill blue on an NFL sideline.

Oregon def. Michigan State: The games this week just keep getting tougher and tougher to pick! The Big Ten fan in me really wants to pick Michigan State (and seeing as I am picking the Ducks, they probably will end up winning), but the home field advantage at Autzen and the speed of Oregon will prove to be a bit too much for the (slightly less) mighty Spartans.

Notre Dame def. Michigan: Is it somehow possible that both teams could lose this game? Since I guess we HAVE to pick a winner per our Guest Panel contractual obligations (and the Moderator and Mrs. Moderator are both attorneys; they'll enforce that somuvab**ch!), I'll go with the Irish. Methinks that Notre Dame with Golson back at QB will much moreso resemble the 2012 version than the 2013 version.

BYU def. Texas: Funtik was tempted to pick Texas in this one based solely on revenge and the embarrassment of the game last year which pretty much started the downfall of Mack Brown, but Texas is missing its starting QB, plus two offensive linemen were suspended for the game. Taking those factors into account, and the fact that BYU's rushing attack isn't going anywhere, I'm going with the Cougars. Bottles of water and other non-alcoholic, and other drinks lacking caffeine and sugar will be popped all over Utah at the conclusion of this game in celebration.

SMU def. North Texas: Absolutely no basis at all for this pick. I do like the fact that this game is being played in Mean Green Stadium though. That's a new addition to Funtik's Stadium Clairvoyant Snout Bucket List.
