Funtik is back where he belongs this week, right at the top (well, tied at the top) of the Guest Panel standings. Not so much that Funtik had a good week in his selections (actually, pretty average), he just did better than his counterparts.
And in Funtik the Hog's 2014 College Football Man Crush news, Famous Jameis Winston has managed to do something else completely legal, yet entirely stupid and unexplainable. None of these blunders really warrant a prison sentence, moreso a psychiatric evaluation and/or an IQ test.
That said, onto this week's picks...
Florida St. def. Clemson: And on the subject of Famous Jameis...the game will be close at halftime solely because of Famous' aforementioned suspension, but expect the Seminoles to pull away and win by at least 2 TDs. Mark this game down as Funtik the Hog's Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage Pick of the Week #4 (1-2 record in such games thus far this season...Funtik needs to do a little less snout bucket rummaging, and little more analysis of teams and picks).
Nebraska def. Miami (FL): Abdullah is a helluva entertaining player; did anyone else see that TD run vs. McNeese State?!?! Yowza!
Utah def. Michigan: An extremely tough game to pick...Utah has outclassed its first two opponents, and the offense is hitting on all cylinders. Michigan was just embarrassed on national television by one of its biggest rivals. However, Utah has been horrible on the road the past few seasons, and obviously Michigan plays better at home. MIchigan makes one too many mistakes in this game and the "Youths" win a close one on the road.
Syracuse def. Maryland: One of Funtik's alma maters plays against his (by default) hometown team. In football, and in life, the alma mater wins every time.
East Carolina def. North Carolina: Mr. Moderator substitutes a game involving a directional MIchigan team for a game involving two directional North Carolina teams. I guess it'll have to do for this week.
Southern Miss. def. Appalachian St.: Can Southern Mississippi can their team nickname to the Fightin' Brett Favres?!?! Sounds much better and cooler than the Golden Eagles.
