OSU Last Week

Ohio State won the game with a score of 55-14. The Buckeyes controlled this game from the start with 31 points in the first half, including two touchdown runs by Curtis Samuel, a field goal, and two touchdown receptions by Devin Smith. The scoring didn't stop in the third quarter as Ohio State rattled off 17 more points behind backup quarterback Cardale Jones. Illinois broke the scoring drought late in the third quarter and scored again in the fourth quarter. Ohio State scored early in the fourth quarter with another touchdown pass by Jones. J.T. Barrett was limited to the first half and completed 15 of 24 passes for 167 yards and two touchdown passes. The defense held Illinois to 106 rushing yards and 137 passing yards. The defense also intercepted Illinois twice.
