Oklahoma def. Missouri - Already happened once this year.

Virginia Tech def. BC - Should have already happened once this year.

LSU def. Tennessee - In your face Bulldogs. Maybe try playing a full season of good football next year.

Tulsa def. UCF - O'Leary will still count it as a win on his resume.

Navy def. Army - If they can beat Notre Dame...

West Virginia def. Pittsburgh - WVU looks scary good right now. Tressel had better prepare the Buckeyes better than last year.

Man Getting Hit by Football's picks:

Oklahoma def. Missouri: Think the Buckeeyes will be rooting for the Sooners, much? With the way that this college football season has gone, one of the top 2 BCS teams will lose this weekend, and, sorry Mizzou, it's going to be you guys this time.

Virginia Tech def. BC: I dare anyone to say the last name of BC head coach Jeff Jagodzinski three times fast. For that reason alone, I pick the Hokie Pokies.

LSU def. Tennessee: This game certainly lost a bit of its luster last Friday, eh? The Tigers had been living on the edge of close losses the entire SEC season, and were due for a loss to a good SEC team, and unfortunately for the Volunteers, it happened last week. Take away the 45-0 outlier win in week #1 of the season vs. Mississippi State, the Tigers' average margin of victory in its 5 SEC wins was only 9 points. Not exactly the average winning margin for a BCS title game contender. And who says the Football Man doesn't do his research?!

UCF def. Tulsa: Did anyone even know that Conference USA had a title game? Does anyone even particularly care?

Navy def. Army: The Midshipmen could very easily be 9-2. They don't exactly play the toughest schedule, but, living near the campus in Annapolis, they get a lot of coverage around here. A very fun, underrated team to watch. You gotta love it when the entire school is given a day off for beating Notre Dame for the first time in 40-something years.

West Virginia def. Pittsburgh: You can never really predict rivalry games like this one. And this game has a better nickname than most; the "Backyard Brawl." Even though it's being played in Morgantown, expect this one to be a lot closer than most would expect.

Central Michigan def. Miami (OH): Joe, it had been a few weeks since the Guest Panel had picked a game involving one of the Michigan directional schools. I'm glad to see things have returned to normal.

North Texas def. Florida International: Check out this logic, ladies and gentlemen (and hence, the underlying reason for this pick); North Texas defeated Louisiana-Monroe. Louisiana-Monroe defeated Alabama. Alabama defeated Arkansas. Arkansas just defeated LSU. Hence, by that logic, North Texas should be able to defeat LSU handily. If they can handle LSU, they shouldn't have much a problem with the mighty Golden Panthers.

Dr. Funkenstein says:

1. Missouri over Oklahoma - Missouri looked good against Kansas. I'll say they take it out on Oklahoma to get to New Orleans.

2. Virginia Tech over Boston College - I don't even really have a good reason for this. Virginia Tech didn't look very good when they almost beat BC the first time. Maybe they'll come out to play this time.

3. LSU over Tennessee - I've had just about enough of LSU and Les Miles. I'd love to see them lose this game, but I'm not expecting it.

4. Tulsa over Central Florida - And I'll take the Golden Hurricane to complete the sweep for revenge conference championship games.

5. Navy over Army - Yeah, yeah. Pageantry, tradition, whatever. People who still claim that this is the best rivalry in sports are out of touch with the present.

6. West Virginia over Pittsburgh - I would much rather be wrong about this pick than the Missouri one. I don't like the Buckeyes' hypothetical matchup with Pat White.

7. Miami over Central Michigan - Oh, Miami of OHIO. I guess they have a chance then.

8. North Texas over Florida International - Too bad FIU couldn't get a game with Notre Dame this season.

Batman

Props for the week: Ron Paul, Joel Osteen.

Picks:

1. Missouri - tough to beat Oklamhoma but I'll jump on the bandwagon now.

2. VT - when this season is over, I need to check my record picking BC games.

3. LSU - a better team than Tennessee. I picked this game wrong last year, so I won't make that same mistake.

4. UCF

5. Navy

6. WV - domination to title game, they will leave little doubt.

7. Miami - I look for the upset here.

8. North Texas.

Pat Head Says:

1. Oklahoma - Boomer Sooner!!

2. Boston College - BC is resurrecting it's 2 loss season and will beat VPI.

3. Tennessee - So maybe we are a long shot, but if the game is close, we have the upper hand. Perhaps Pearl and I should don cheerleading uniforms and head on down to Atlanta to cheer the Vols on!

4. UCF - In an earlier match-up this season, the Knights killed the Golden Hurricanes. Therefore, I'm going with the Knights.

5. Navy - Why is this considered Army's home game? I predict the Midshipman will beat the Black Knights.

6. West Virginia - Part of me thinks that WVU will be looking ahead to BCS glory and will forget about little 'ol Pitt. The other part of me thinks that's bullshit.

7. Central Michigan - How many games are we picking this week???!! =)Central Michigan has had some close games this year and they've come out on top. They'll do it again.

And the oddball game:

8. North Texas - I cannot believe that there is an oddball game this week.

spamsandwichsan says...

1. oklahoma. i don't think they will win, but at this point in the football pick standings, it doesn't really matter for me, so i'll pick who i want to win.

2. VT. Once again, I hate anything to do with Boston.

3. LSU. They're pissed and will play like it.

4. UCF.

5. Army. Isn't the army's specialty supposed to be ground troop re-enforcement? Since there shouldn't be any water on the field (unless they play in Pittsburg Stadium), the Navy will have no front for which they know how to fight... unless Notre Dame shows up!

6. WV. They're not gonna lose.

7. CMU. I have some friends that went here, but their football team sucked back then. They couldn't have dreamed of beating a high school JV team, let alone another MAC team!

8. Florida International. The people from North Texas will be upset as they arrive in Miami too late for the Crockett and Tubbs autograph session.
