Here are the games for the Guest Panel to consider this week. Below are the standings as well.
Standings:
1. Yellow #5 (6-0)
2. Pat Head (5-1)
2. Batman (5-1)
2. Big Dog (5-1)
2. Buckeye Cock (5-1)
2. Spam Sandwichsan (5-1)
2. Philly Cheese (5-1)
8. Hudy Delights (4-2)
8. Old Bag of Man (4-2)
8. Mel Kiper's Hair (4-2)
11. Andy Katzenmoyer's Professor (3-3)
12. Dr. Funkenstein (3-3)
Games for this week:
1. USC vs. Ohio State
2. Notre Dame vs. Michigan
3. South Carolina vs. Georgia
4. Purdue vs. Oregon
5. UCLA vs. Tennessee
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Florida A&M vs. Winston-Salem
1. USC vs. Ohio State
ReplyDeleteW-OSU: Very unsure about this pick. OSU needs to work on their O and D front line. Being pushed off the line by Navy's front men, who were 40 lbs lighter, is unacceptable. Regardless of who wins, I'm looking forward to a long day of tailgating!
2. Notre Dame vs. Michigan
W-Notre Dame: They actually looked pretty good last weekend.
3. South Carolina vs. Georgia
W-Georgia:
4. Purdue vs. Oregon
W-Oregon: Purdue just isn't good enough.
5. UCLA vs. Tennessee
W-Tennessee:
6. Florida A&M vs. Winston-Salem
W-Florida A&M: Random pick. Let's hope it pays off.
Hudy Delights

Notre Dame over Michigan
Georgia over S Carolina
Oregon over Purdue
Tenn over UCLA
Fl A&M over Winston Salem
The Cock is off to a good start. Let's see if he can finish strong.
ReplyDelete1. USC - I know, I know. I will be at the game cheering my Buckeyes on, hoping that they can win but let's admit it folks, we did not look good. Yes, Navy is a much better team than people think and yes, they will win about 10 games this year but if there is one thing that I learned from the Navy game it's that we cannot stop the run. Any kind of run. USC has about 5 people that can run--fast. Look for them to run the ball on 3rd down a lot. :-(
2. Michigan - Hail to those big co, they looked good. ND looked good. This is the game of the week. I give the advantage to the Michigan D playing at home.
3. Georgia - The bulldogs bounce back. The SC offense could only find 7 points against NC State and the reason for that is because NC State muffed a punt.
4. Purdue - The Ducks have been broken. No running game? Then again, Purdue doesn't look like they have a D this year. Look for a lot of points in this one, folks.
5. Tennessee - Rocky top is back for another week. How many total yards of offense did they have last week? Over 600??
6. The coin tells me to go with Florida A&M even though I would have much rather picked Iowa over Iowa State.
Batman:
ReplyDelete1. USC - Only true believers will pick OSU because last week vs Navy wasn't pretty.
2. Notre Dame - this is a test to see who's for real, I say ND is. Whoever wins this game goes 2-0 and that aint bad.
3. Georgia - relatively easy pick
4. Oregon - comparatively easy pick
5. Tennessee - this is a game I, and many of the panel, picked wrong last season. I vowed never to pick Tennessee again.
6. Florida A&M
I feel like an idiot for not picking Cincinnati.
Old Bag of Man needs some good picks:
ReplyDelete1) Here's to hoping that we are hiding what we really have this year. OSU gets the upset.
2) Can they both lose? No matter who I pick part of me dies on the inside. Notre Dame loses but Weis doesn't lose any weight.
3) I'm pretty sure Spurrier has quit coaching and is just enjoying the golf courses in S. Carolina. Georgia wins.
4) Purdue, come out swinging. Purdue wins.
5) Tennessee, even though their coach is a complete jackass.
6) Florida A&M.
Pat Head's picks:
ReplyDelete1. USC vs. Ohio State: OSU...crossing fingers...
2. Notre Dame vs. Michigan: ND. I'm breaking my rule and I hate it. Ugh.
3. South Carolina vs. Georgia: Georgia. I don't think GA will lose to Spurrier.
4. Purdue vs. Oregon: Oregon. Oregon looked like crap last week, but maybe that was the fault of the blue field. I still think they'll win at home.
5. UCLA vs. Tennessee: Tennessee of course! GO VOLS!
6. Florida A&M vs. Winston-Salem: FAMU: Winston-Salem's website sucks, I'm going w/ FAMU.
The Professor's Grades for Week #2:
ReplyDeleteUSC def. Ohio State: It absolutely PAINS the Professor to make this pick. But this point in the Guest Panelist season, already 3 full games back of first place with only 1 week down, the Professor needs to use his analytical and research skills to make this pick with his mind, rather than his heart. Picking against the University where he is a Professor Emeritus is very difficult, but it must be done. Those suntanned surfer boys from SoCal send Tressel & Co. home with a second straight loss. Thank goodness we move onto the U next year for our big out of conference game.
Notre Dame def. Michigan: On the field, and in the battle of which team the Professor hates more, the Golden Domers win in both cases.
Georgia def. South Carolina: Insert lame joke about the 'Cocks covering the spread right.........here.
Oregon def. Purdue: How the mighty have fallen in a little over a week. The Ducks go from being a dark horse Pac-10/national title contender to being lucky just to get into a bowl game. But, methinks the Ducks show a little cajones and get by in a closer than expected game at Autzen.
Tennessee def. UCLA: Tennessee actually leads the nation in offense after the first week of the season. Lane Kiffin may be a complete and total a**hole (heck, he IS a complete and total a**hole), but, apparently he gets the job done, at least in the collegiate ranks. And, he has a REALLY hot Southern belle of a wife. Google image search her up.
Florida A&M def. Winston-Salem: I just like the fact that the F A&M team nickname is the Rattlers, and their logo totally rocks. If I don't finish in first place this season, my character's name is most likely going to be The Rattler in '10.
Spamsandwichsan says...
ReplyDelete1. Ohio State over USC - this week I WILL be booing the opposing team as they take the field... from section 20B! Go bucks!
2. Notre Dame over Michigan - boo michigan!! (the lesser of the two evils in my mind)
3. Georgia over South Carolina - I still hate game cocks!
4. Purdue over Oregon
5. Tennessee over UCLA
6. Florida A&M over Winston-Salem - philip morris should be the proud sponser of this game
OSU
ReplyDeleteTrojans win this game 9 out of 10 times. If we listened to the pundits after the last three nationally televised night game debacles, they’d say USC in a landslide. It’s not the logical choice, it’s not the statistical choice, it’s not the favorite choice, however if this game is the difference between 5-1 and 6-0 in the standings this week, at least I’ll fail and be able to go to bed with no guilt of betrayal.
Of course victory means I get to call everybody I know from Southern Cal and torment them mercilessly with burgeoning satisfaction of ‘knowing-all-along’ how totally screwed they were for scheduling this game.
Michigan
Best possible scenario to happen in Ann Arbor this weekend: Charlie Weis craps his pants after having eating the entire Holiday Inn Buffet, Jimmy Clausen somehow trips on Denard Robinson’s shoelace pushing his nose even farther up his ‘squinchy’ face, Rich Rod punches Michael Floyd on the sidelines, thus solidifying his status as “Most-Despised” coach in the world and Cartman plays the 'Brown' note over the loudspeaker following the national anthem. I hate both teams almost equally so I’ll just pick for the conference. Michigan over ND 29 - 28
Georgia
If you like defense you’ll like this game. For a Spurrier team to put up a measly seven the week before is appalling however he’s going up against an even tougher defense this Saturday. The men from Athens will be looking to take out their frustrations compliments of the Boone Pickens’ Boys last week. Unfortunately for both nobody can play a lick of offense so I somewhat cheekily pick Georgia to beat SC by a safety. 2 – 0 Bulldogs
Oregon
Two teams, both alike with new coaches, in fair Eugene where we set the scene. The Ducks off-field in-dignities will not matter as Purdue’s largest accomplishment will be to find their way to the stadium all-together. Oregon 38 – 10
Tennessee
Crompton will have another big passing day making Lane and the Volunteer faithful ecstatic. UCLA is certainly no Western Kentucky, but they just won’t have the firepower to handle this revived SEC team. Am I the only one who thinks their end-zones look like the Purina symbol??? Tennessee wins 43 - 14
Florida A&M
Bowman-Gray stadium will welcome the Rattlers not once, but two times this season for some unknown reason (at least according to the ESPN website). Can anybody please explain this? Does the I-AA know something the BCS leagues don’t? Florida A&M wins easily on the road 40-0
