Scouting the Buffaloes

This Season
Colorado is 1-2 so far this season. In the 17-34 loss in the opener, Hawaii had a 17-0 lead and Colorado got within 7 points before Hawaii pulled away and scored ten more points. In the second game, Colorado lost 33-36 in overtime to California. In that game Colorado twice came back from ten point deficits, but the difference ended up being a Colorado FG and a California TD in overtime. For what it is worth, the California game was not a conference game, as it was tied to a two-game non-conference series staring last year. Colorado had its first victory of the season in the game against Colorado State, 28-14. QB Hansen had two rushing TDs and two passing TDs in that game.

Offense
QB Tyler Hansen has been the QB for all three games completing 55% of his passes for 912 yards, 7 touchdowns, and one interception. WR Toney Clemons, a transfer from Michigan, can now claim that he has played in three conferences, Big 10 at Michigan, Big 12 at Colorado, and Pac-12 at Colorado. Also catching the ball are receiver Paul Richardson, tight end Ryan Deehan, and RB Rodney Stewart. Richardson has four touchdowns and 360 receiving yards. At running back is Rodney Stewart, a Brookhaven grad, with 223 yards (74 yards/game) and 0 rushing touchdowns. Stewart is only 5'6", but he could break the all-time rushing yards record at Colorado. QB Hansen can run if needed, and has 17 yards and two rushing TDs.

Defense
Leading the team in tackles is CB Parker Orms with 28. Two of the captains are on defense, Jon Major at LB and safety Anthony Perkins. Ayodeji Olatoye is at cornerback and nickelback, and is one of a few individuals that went to Columbus area high schools. LB Doug Rippy went to Columbus and Dayton high schools, and has 26 tackles and two sacks this season.
