Things to Watch

Penalties
Colorado is 116th nationally with 29 total penalties this season, an average of 9.7/game. Will that trend continue and possibly doom the team as it did Toledo?

Meltdown?
Is the world going to end? Is Ohio State football in uncharted territory with the loss to Miami and potential loses in the future? Will things ever get back to normal with Ohio State football? I'll answer those questions in order: (1) no the world is not going to end, relax; (2) no Ohio State is not in uncharted territory, they have lost games before; and (3) what is normal anyways? Fans have been a bit spoiled during the Tressel years, as the team beat Michigan almost every year, beat almost all its other regular season opponents, played and won BCS games, and even went to a few National Championship games with one championship victory. That is an incredible run, and that should not be expected to be "normal" for any school.  It is human nature to raise one's expectations in such a situation, but you have to come back down from the clouds and realize your expectations are a bit ridiculous. As I have always said, you need to be careful when you ride the emotional roller coaster of a sports team, as there will be highs and lows. You need to enjoy the ride and make it through the wins and loses without puking your guts out. This team is very talented, but it is also very young and very inexperienced. Unfortunately the potential for more loses is a real possibility, so don't go crazy and have a meltdown. That being said, the team could re-group and make a Big Ten run, but don't book your tickets to Indy yet. Enjoy this season, and if you can't do that, you should start counting down to the start of the OSU basketball season...that is unless you are still recovering from the Sweet 16 loss to Kentucky...
