Things to Watch

Got BTN?
You should have the Big Ten Network this weekend as long as your provider is not Dish Network. The contact between BTN and Dish Network expires on Friday, August 31. It is no coincidence that the contract expires right before the first games on Saturday, as that puts pressure on the negotiations. In some cases there are last minute deals, but Time Warner customers remember not having BTN for an entire season as the two parties could not come to an agreement. If you have Dish Network, don't hold your breath on Friday.

Police Blotter
Senior receiver Jake Stoneburner and junior tackle Jack Mewhort made the news in early June when they were arrested outside a restaurant in the area of the Muirfield Golf Club. It was reported that the two football players, along with a friend, were spotted urinating outside of the building and they ran when confronted by police. Both players were suspended and have since been reinstated after completing a team punishment.

Running back freshman Bri'onte Dunn made news this summer as he was acquitted of disorderly conduct, connected to a traffic stop in which drugs were found in the vehicle. His mother later claimed the drugs belonged to her.

Senior Linebacker Storm Klein also made the news after an altercation with an ex-girlfriend and he was originally charged with domestic violence. He was suspended from the team, but Meyer said he would reconsider if charges were dropped. He plead guilty to reduced charges of disorderly conduct and he was reinstated on the team.

Quick Cals
Students will join the team with an "exercise" during pregame festivities. I am not sure what I think about this "new tradition" but I imagine the students will have fun. Click here for a video demonstration.
