Scouting the Boilermakers

This Season
Purdue is 3-3 and 0-2 in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers have victories over Eastern Kentucky (48-6), Eastern Michigan (54-16), and Marshall (51-41). Purdue has losses to Notre Dame (20-17), Michigan (44-13), and Wisconsin (38-14). The team averages 165 rushing yards, 222 passing yards, and 32 points/game. The defense allows 199 rushing yards/game, 212 passing yards, and 27.5 points/game.

Offense
Starting quarterback Caleb TerBush has thrown for 2,642 career yards with 721 yards this season. Backup quarterback Robert Marve, in his sixth season, started the opener, but was replaced by Caleb TerBush. Marve had his third ACL injury in the Notre Dame game earlier this season, but he has elected to delay surgery until the offseason and he is playing with a brace. Akeem Shavers is at running back and has 324 yards this season, with a season high of 74 yards against Eastern Kentucky. At receiver Antavian Edison has 27 consecutive games with a reception, with 371 reception yards and five touchdowns. Also catching the ball are O.J. Ross, Gabe Holmes, and Gary Bush.

Defense
Defensive tackle Kawann Short is third nationally with 42.5 tackles this season. The Purdue defense has nine interceptions, and safety Landon Feichter leads the team with three. Linebacker Will Lucas has 29 tackles this season, and he had 10 tackles in Columbus two years ago.
