What to Expect

The weather should clear out before kickoff, with minimal impact on the game due to the artificial field. Maryland's offense depends on dual-threat quarterback C.J. Brown and with his playing status unclear Ohio State has to still prepare for his running ability. Regardless Maryland will not have the passing success of UC and it will need the running game to be successful. Ohio State should be able to limit Maryland's running game to 120 yards and Maryland will only have 200 passing yards. Coach Edsall is known for his defensive background and experience, but he doesn't have the personnel to be an elite Big Ten defense this season. Maryland appears to be most susceptible to running, but the passing defense is not stellar and the team allows over 430 combined yards/game. Ohio State will have a balanced attack again, with 250 rushing yards and 300 passing yards. Ohio State will win 42-27.
