8 comments:
1. Illinois vs. Ohio State
W-OSU: The pressure is definitely weighing on our beloved buckeyes. Let's hope that the disease that's plagued this season with massive upsets doesn't leak its way into The Shoe.
2. Auburn vs. Georgia
W-Georgia:
3. Michigan vs. Wisconsin
W-Michigan: Michigan wins by a last second field goal to salvage what's left of a 2-loss season thus far.
4. Arkansas vs. Tennessee
W-Tennessee: "You're the only 10 I see!" Remember that pick up line?..It's really terrible.
5. Rice vs. Southern Methodist
W-Rice: Did you know that Southern Methodist's DOAK WALKER won the Heisman in 1948? In an odd twist, RICE's Trevor Cobb won the DOAK WALKER Award in 1991. Does Trevor Cobb have his own award? Don't think so. Poor Trevor Cobb.
MGHBF says:
Ohio State def. Illinois: Ohio State will hold onto the glorious and priceless Illibuck trophy for yet another year. I don't know what an Illibuck is, but, I know I wouldn't want to run into one in a dark alley late at night by myself.
Georgia def. Auburn: Between the hedges, and with UGA as a backup defensive lineman, Georgia wins.
Michigan def. Wisconsin: Michigan has won 7 out of the past 8 vs. Wisconsin, and Wisconsin has won 13 straight games at home. My guess is that the Badgers' win streak ends, considering some of those 13 wins have come against such college football powerhouses as The Citadel, Northern Illinois, and Washington State.
Tennessee def. Arkansas: Is there a more up and down team in the nation than the Volunteers? One week get destroyed by Alabama, the week beat a very good South Carolina team. By the way, Joe, D-I college football conferences do exist outside of the Big Ten and SEC, in case you forgot. How 'bout a Mountain West or Mid-American Conference game to whet our whistles?!
Rice def. Southern Methodist: SMU just fired its head coach. And its leading rusher is also the starting quarterback. Add those two things up, and that usually equals a defeat. But, in SMU's defense, Mustangs is a MUCH cooler nickname than the Owls.
Dr. Funkenstein says:
1. Ohio State over Illinois - The Illibuck isn't leaving Columbus anytime soon.
2. Auburn over Georgia - Auburn is heating up and Georgia is way too inconsistent. Tigers roll.
3. Michigan over Wisconsin - Wisconsin is pretty banged up, and Michigan is playing pretty well right now. Of course, the wolverines also want to get in one last win before two more inevitable loswes to the Buckeyes and in a bowl game.
4. Tennessee over Arkansas - Oh, I don't know. Tennessee might be more inconsistent than Georgia. We'll just call this a gut feeling.
5. Rice over Southern Methodist - Are there any other kinds of Methodists?
Batman:
Props for the week: Deron Williams, Skip Bayless, Brett Favre, Mayor Coleman, Gardner Webb, Findlay, my brother for giving me the Virginiia over Wake game last week.
Picks:
1. Ohio State -
There have been some rumblings about Todd Boeckman for Heisman...notably by Skip Bayless.
2. Georgia
I am guessing on this one that Georgia continues to roll.
3. Michigan
I will pick against michigan with very few exceptions. Possibly vs. OSU. This UM team is getting respect in the BCS rankings. They had a quality comeback vs. MSU.
4. Tennessee
Due to home field advantage.
5. SMU
How many Rice games have we had to pick this year?
Pat Head says:
1. Ohio State
2. Auburn - Auburn has a knack for upsets.
3. Michigan - I want to pick Wisconsin, but I'm just not sure they have it this season.
4. Tennessee - McFadden had 320+ yards against South Carolina, which scares me considering UT's defense this season, but I can't pick against my Vols!
And the oddball game this week:
5. Southern Methodist
Ohio State def. Illinois - Who ever thought this game would anything more than an afterthought at the beginning of the year?
Georgia def. Auburn - Georgia has mediocred their way into SEC title contention.
Michigan def. Wisconsin - Wolverine losses don't look as bad after other upsets and the the way the Ducks have been playing...
Arkansas def. Tennessee - Has anyone ever seen Phil Fullmer and Fred Thompson in a room at the same time?
Rice def. SMU - I had rice for dinner last night.
Philly Cheese
Ohio State
Georgia
Michigan
Tennessee
Rice
spamsandwichsan says...
1. osu
2. georgia
3. michigan. i want their win to be complete with another comment from Hart about how wisconsin reminds him of his little brother, even though they are all much bigger than him.
4. arkansas
5. southern methodist... is their mascot the 'touchdown jesus' that sits on I75 on your way from dayton to cincinnatti? if so, there's no stopping them!
