Scouting the Nittany Lions

Offense
Daryll Clark leads the offense at QB going 63% for 2158 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He has only had one interception in the last five games. Clark is leading the Big Ten and is 14th in the nation in passing efficiency with 149.3. At running back is Evan Royster with 859 yards and five touchdowns. He has run 100 or more yards in five games, against Temple, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, and Minnesota. In his career he has eleven 100-yard games. His best game this season was 137 against Minnesota. Also running the ball is Stephfon Green, with 248 yards and three touchdowns this season. Both Royster and Green had over 100 yards in the Illinois game. Green did not play in the last two games due to an ankle injury. Brandon Beachum has been the #2 back in place of Green. At receiver are Derek Moye, with 638 yards and five touchdowns, and Graham Zug, with 350 yards and five touchdowns. Moye is 6'5" while Zug is 6'2". Moye had a 53-yard touchdown reception in the Northwestern game last week. He has had over 100 yards in receptions three times this season. Zug had a big game against Michigan, with three touchdown catches. Zug is a former walk-on. Both Dennis Landolt and Stefen Wisniewski return as starters on the O-Line this season after earning first team All-Big Ten honors last year.

Defense
Penn State is known as "Lineback U." The three linebackers on this year's team are Sean Lee, Navorro Bowman, and Josh Hull. Lee is a seminfinalist for the Butkus award this season, after missing last year with a knee injury. He started the season with 32 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in the first three games, but a knee sprain in the Temple game caused him to miss the Iowa, Illinois, and Eastern Illinois game. He returned for limited minutes in the Minnesota and Michigan games. He started in the Northwestern game last week, collecting 12 tackles. LB Bowman was injured in the Akron game, and missed the Syracuse and Temple games. He returned for the Iowa game. LB Hull leads the team with 82 tackles. The D-Line had to replace three defensive ends from last year's team. Leading the D-Line is tackle Jared Odrick. The line has held opponents to 2.6 rushing yards/attempt and 84.1 rushing yards/game. Odrick has 33 tackles, 10 for loss, and 6 sacks. Tackle Ollie Ogbu has 24 tackles. The defensive ends have less experience, but defensive end Jack Crawford leads the team with 13 tackles for loss and Eric Latimore has 5.5 tackles for loss.
