Here are the games for the Guest Panel to consider this week. Below are the standings as well. It was a rough week for the Buckeyes and for the Guest Panel. That was a blow last week. I have been asked politely to clarify the secret identity of Harry Chance. In actuality, he is a member of the guest panel that is working under an alias. I know the true identity of Harry Chance. Do you?
1. OSU - I should have predicted that they would lose to the Badgers. Bah!
2. Oklahoma - Yeah Mizzou is going to look really really bad after this one.
3. Auburn - I've picked against Auburn every single time this season and I have lost. I won't pick against them this time around. War Eagle!!!
4. Iowa - The Badgers had their moment. With Iowa hosting Wisc, Ohio State, and Michigan State this season, they look like the Big 10 frontrunners right now.
5. OK State - What in the world happened to Nebraska last weekend. All that redemption crap and they laid an egg. OK State figures them out this week as well.
6. AK State - and the random coin flip goes to . . .
Old Bag of Man needs to make up some ground:
1) OSU. I don't care what Purdue's coach said last year, we'll get use to one thing, beating them.
2) Oklahoma. It'll be a cold day in hell before I consider Missoura a state.
3) Auburn. Both teams I still do not believe in but I hate Les Miles.
4) Wisconsin. If they played like they did last week they'll win.
5) Nebraska. On their big 12 farewell tour, they'll take care of this OSU.
6) Arkansas St. Why not?
Batman:
I am shocked and disappointed by the Ohio State loss. I guess we were all under the impression that they were better than everyone else by far. Special teams hurt Ohio State.
On to the picks: How can I jump the standings? It will be very difficult due to excellent picking by our top 2 panelists.
1. OSU
2. Oklahoma - too much tradition overpowers the wannabees.
3. Auburn - the winner of this game could be the national champion!
4. Iowa - Best team in the Big Ten right now.
5. Nebraska
6. Arkansas State - an easy oddball.
In other sports: Go Texas Rangers! Beat the Yankees!
Philly Cheese
OSU
Oklahoma
Auburn
Iowa
Nebraska
Arkansas St.
Spamsandwichsan says...
1. W: OSU - need to embrace the run... I'm about to start throwing my Buckeye Bad Call Brick at the TV when offense does the following:
1st-deep pass, incomplete (overthrown)
2nd-deep pass, play implodes, TP tries to scramble, gain of 1 (after running from sideline to sideline twice trying to make a play)
3rd-short slant pass, 2 yard gain
4th-punt
Or better yet, down 21-0 at the end of the half, 4th down in the red zone, field goal unit!!
2. W: Missouri - down with No. 1's... Unless of course OSU makes it back to the top!
3. W: Auburn
4. W: Iowa
5. W: Nebraska - we want to add a good team to the big ten, right?
6. W: Arkansas St.
1. Ohio State over Purdue
2. Missouri over Oklahoma
3. Auburn over LSU
4. Iowa over Wisconsin
5. Nebraska over Oklahoma State
6. Arkansas State over Florida Atlantic
Carl's Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks of the Week #8:
So, a mini mulligan last week, 3-3 record. But at least Carl won the oddball game to raise his record in that category to 2-5 for the season. And to all the Ohio State haters, well, you were right, at least last week. Regardless, we'll still win 10 games, finish no worse than 2nd in the conference, and still make a BCS bowl game. Just think Buckeye fans, it could be worse...we could be Michigan. Never forget that.
OSU def. Purdue: Payback's a b***h, and (her) name is Terrelle Pryor. Expect a blowout not quite along the lines of the Indiana game, but close.
Oklahoma def. Missouri: Mr. Moderator, I must say this week's slate of games are tough to pick, even for the Nostradamus-esque picking/gambling skills of Carl. Going with Oklahoma for 2 main reasons: (1) Carl doesn't envision the #1 team losing 3 weeks in a row; (2) Oklahoma has beaten Missouri 19 out of the last 20 games played. History is not on the side of the Tigas.
Auburn def. LSU: The combination of an undefeated LSU and Les Miles still being employed really chaps this Guest Panelist's a**.
Iowa def. Wisconsin: Okay, so Ohio State needs Iowa to beat Wisconsin this week, Michigan State to beat Iowa next weekend, and Wisconsin to lose to another team along the way in order to win the Big Ten title. And of course we need to win out the rest of the season. Carl's head hurts...he needs to go lie down.
Nebraska def. Oklahoma St.: It's 11:15 on Wed. night folks, and I have to be up for work in 7 hours (yes, Carl works, believe it or not...in which profession/field, I'll leave that to your imagination). Regardless, ain't got too much to say about this game at this hour other than T. Boone Pickens is really wealthy.
Arkansas St. def. Florida Atlantic: Red Wolves kick Owl a** any day of the week.
OSU rebounds vs. Purdue – I can’t believe we lose to these guys twice in a row. I’d hate to be a boilermaker this week (or any other week for that matter)
Oklahoma stifles Missouri – First BCS rankings are out and man am I happy not to se Boise up there. I got lots of love for the little guy but until you play in a big boy conference against big boy opponents you’ll still be wearing diapers in my book.
Auburn humiliates LSU – if this were a chess match with those little clock thingy’s that players hit after each turn I’d say it would be a blowout in favor of the War Eagles. Still – there’s plenty of opportunities for Les Miles to screw up since Football is also a very clock oriented sport.
Iowa spears Wisconsin - Can we say shot their wad.
Nebraska windmills Oklahoma – Another powerhouse team rebounds this week. Boone Pickens will not be proud of this performance.
Arkansas State flips past Florida Atlantic – Ahhh Vegas odds website…how you consistently serve as a palatable replacement for my engraved odd-ball coin. Here’s to the desert oracles being correct for once!
Pat Head’s Picks.
Thanks Hood for the assist from last week! I wish we were still in the wilderness far away from the real world! But alas, we must face it. Here are my very unresearched picks.
1. OSU over Purdue. I guess it’s good that some wonderful events occurred on Saturday or else Joe would have been devastated by last week’s loss. OSU will bounce back and win big!
2. Oklahoma over Missouri
3. Auburn over LSU – I still don’t think LSU is that good.
4. Iowa over Wisconsin – Wisconsin won’t be able to hold the momentum from last week’s win.
5. Nebraska over Oklahoma St.
6. Arkansas St. over Florida Atlantic
