Here are the games for the Guest Panel to consider this week. Below are the standings as well. Philly Cheese is still at first, but his lead is down to one game. With default picks Funtik now holds second by himself. Mel Kiper separated from the large group previously at fourth place. Bowl Ban was the only panelist to predict the Georgia victory. Big Dog was the only panelist to predict the Notre Dame victory.
Standings:
1. Philly Cheese (39-15) (4-2 last week)
5. Black Widow (35-19) (3-3 last week)
10. Hudy the Dark Knight (33-21) (3-3 last week)
11. Bowl Ban (30-14) (4-2 last week)
Games for this week:
1. Illinois vs. Ohio State
2. Alabama vs. LSU
3. Oregon vs. USC
4. Texas A&M vs. Mississippi St.
5. Texas vs. Texas Tech
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Florida International vs. South Alabama

And the oddball game this week is:
6. Florida International vs. South Alabama - FIU
1. OSU - still undefeated.
2. Alabama - haven't seen them play but ESPN loves them so I have to pick'em.
3. Oregon- would love to see them lose bit doubtful it'll be this weekend.
4. Miss state- had no idea these two were ranked 16 and 17 on the AP poll.
5. Texas tech
6. Fl Intl.
OLD BAG OF MAN MOVED NO WHERE IN THE STANDINGS. TIME TO CHANGE THAT.
1) OSU. WHO HASN'T BEAT ILLINOIS THIS YEAR? EVEN MICHIGAN'S BACKUP QB COULD BEAT THEM.
2) ALABAMA. LSU'S HOME WIN STREAK GOES BYE BYE.
3) OREGON. WAS HOPING THIS COULD BE A GAME THEY SLIP UP ON BUT AFTER USC LOST TO ARIZONA I THINK THEY WIN EASILY.
4) A&M. ENOUGH WITH THE JOHNNY FOOTBALL.
5) TEXAS TECH.
6) SOUTH ALABAMA.
Philly Cheese
Ohio State
Alabama
Oregon
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Florida International
Ohio State, 35-17
Alabama - LSU can't score enough in the first place, let alone against a D like Bama's. Crimson Tide are getting to the point USC was in the mid-00's, and Miami was before OSU beat them in '03: Will anyone EVER beat them???
Oregon - Oregon doesn't come around at a good time for Barkley, his two receivers, and their supporting cast. Ducks have been waiting a year for this.
Texas A&M - Aggies hanging much tougher in the Sec than their Big 12 brethren, Mizzou. Very competitive game.
Texas Tech - Another intriguing game (great job, Mod!). Mack Brown loses this, and the "em" they refer to in "Hook 'em Horns" is gonna be named Mack...
South Alabama - My record has got to be about 2-7 in these Oddball games. About to just go default on these for the remainder of '12
Batman
1. Ohio State
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. Texas A&M
5. Texas Tech
And the oddball game this week is: 6. Florida International
Sometimes the default picks are the best. Last week, I thought. "YES! I'm going to gain a game on Funtik...his default pick was Notre Dame!" Well my theory holds that more often than not the default picks turn out better than us "expert" panelists.
But really, did anyone expect ND to win 30-13 in Oklahoma?
Spam, regarding Candle Lake, you were always light years ahead of me when it came to girls! What a great idea!
Ohio State rolls this week, there will be no "Indiana" hiccup. I bet a lot of fans will be sorry that Ron Zook was let go. I actually thought he was an improved coach and good for that program!
Alabama is too tough for LSU. While I've picked against LSU in the past this season and got burned, Alabama is not South Carolina.
Oregon is on fire and is on a mission to get that #2 BCS ranking. They beat a struggling USC team.
I get very few channels on my TV with a digital box. But on channel 6-2 I got to watch a little of Mississippi State last week. They are a nice team, but I picked A&M.
Sadly, Texas will probably lose this week. The fighting Mack Browns squeaked by Kansas last week.
FIU rolls this week, and mark my words, they may win out the remainder of their games.
Not that I enjoy listening to "The Common Man and the Torg," but did the Torg leave? Can anyone with knowledge of this appraise the Caped Crusader?
Thought of the week:
Be fearless
Props of the week:
The Cleveland Cavs.
Really liked their unselfishness in winning Game #1 of the season vs. Washington. Varejao had 23 rebounds! Amp up expectations Cleveland Fans. Also a quick shout out to the lowly Browns who beat San Diego 7-6. I like their coach.
Good luck to the panel this week. I'm wondering if anyone will pick some Dogs in an effort to move up in the standings...
1. Ohio State
2. Alabama
3. USC
4. Texas A&M
5. Texas
6. Florida International
Black Widow's Picks:
1. Ohio State over Illinois
2. Alabama over LSU: Let's hope this year's game is not as boring as last year's.
3. Oregon over USC: Hmmm. Hate both teams. Too bad they both can't lose.
4. Texas A&M over Mississippi St.
5. Texas Tech over Texas
6. Florida International over South Alabama
Funtik
Two straight 5-1 weeks for big bad Funtik, slopping his way into sole possession of second place in the Guest Panel standings all by himself! Maybe I should do this default picks thing more often…who am I kidding?!?! My loyal readers were deprived of my hard-hitting analysis and take it to the bank prediction skills for one week, I don’t want them to miss me too much!
Fresh off my honeymoon vacation (and practicing cannibalism while there…I feel dirty), Funtik is ready to challenge Philly Cheese for first place in the standings. Onto this week’s picks!
Ohio State def. Illinois: Don’t look now, but, Ohio State could very easily end the regular season undefeated (of course, as we all know, there will be no conference title game nor bowl game this season). That should be a VERY scary and troubling thought to the rest of the Big Ten conference; just imagine an Urban Meyer coached Ohio State team a few years from now, with all of his recruits playing and with something to actually play for in the postseason. Big Ten conference head coaches, you have been warned.
Alabama def. LSU: Game of the Century, Part II?!?! This hog doesn’t think so. Even though the game is at Death Valley, at night, the Crimson Tide should roll (pardon the pun) by at least a TD. Las Vegas has the Tide as a 9 ½ point favorite, meaning that if the game was at Alabama, they’d be favored by more than 2 TDs. Scary thought (pardon the Halloween pun). I’m hesitant to make this game the Funtik the Hog “Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage” Pick of the Week for Week #10 simply because of Les Miles and his grass chompin’/Mad Hatter ways, but I was tempted.
Oregon def. USC: A good friend of Funtik’s is a proud Duck alumnus, so I would be in big trouble with him if I picked against his beloved Mighty Ducks in this game. This game has ALL the makings of an upset for the Ducks, but this hog thinks that although it will be close, the Black Mamba will rip off a huge run or punt return in the 4th quarter to win the game.
Texas A&M def. Mississippi St.: Johnny “Football” Manziel (the Aggies’ starting freshman QB, and a Heisman contender), is the early frontrunner to be the Funtik the Hog College Football Hog Crush for the 2013 season.
Texas Tech def. Texas: When you need a 4th quarter comeback led by Colt McCoy’s little brother to beat Kansas, you know you’re in trouble. Fun fact: the winner of this game receives the “Chancellor’s Spurs” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chancellor%27s_Spurs). It’s not quite Paul Bunyan’s Ax or the Illibuck, but, when in Texas, do as the Texans do. The Longhorns screwed Funtik over in what is probably his worst pick of the entire season (the Red River Rivalry game vs. Oklahoma) thus far, and he is not going to make the same mistake twice. In fact, he is so upset with the Longhorns and has such hatred for them that he is going to mark this game down as Funtik the Hog’s “Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage” Pick of the Week for Week #10 (6-2 record thus far this season, I did not make a Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage Pick of the Week last week, so, I am one game behind). Perhaps Funtik will have two Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage Picks of the Week for Week #11 or another week in the future. Loyal readers, stay tuned…
Florida International def. South Alabama: In the mild upset, I’m going with the Golden Panthers over the Jaguars. On a related note, which animal would actually win in this fight?
