Receiver Anthony Gonzalez will be skipping his senior year to enter the NFL draft. He held a press conference this afternoon to announce his decision. He said the following, "This was truly the most difficult decision of my life, but I feel it is the correct decision." At this point he is projected to be a second round pick, likely behind a group of talented receivers including Jarrett (USC), Samardzija (ND), Meachem (Tenn), Johnson (G. Tech) and Ginn (OSU.) I don't pretend to be an NFL draft expert, so don't hold me to those predictions.
Tedd Ginn Sr. said that his son had his foot evaluated and it is just a sprain, that will take three to four weeks to heal. Ginn was hurt in the endzone after his touchdown. I posted a picture in a previous post. Ginn still has not announced if he intends to enter the draft. He is projected as a first round pick, but his injury may prevent him from working out in front of NFL scouts.
Running back Antonio Pittman will announce his decision regarding the draft on Monday at noon. Monday is the deadline for junior-year-player decisions.
