9 comments:
Washington def. Ohio State - I hate to pick against the Buckeyes, but this team just doesn't seem to have it together on offense.
USC def. Nebraska - Good to see the Huskers in their place after those overrated '90s teams. USC could use a little of that medicine.
Florida def. Tennessee - Florida will lose several games this year, but not to a team coached by Fulmer.
Georgia Tech def. Boston College - The jackets are legit ACC contenders this year.
Arkansas def. Alabama - This will be McFadden's first "statement" game on his way to the Heisman.
Michigan def. Notre Dame - Yawn.
1. Ohio State vs. Washington
W-OSU: Beanie scores 3 TD's and has over 130 yards rushing.
2. USC vs. Nebraska
W-USC:
3. Tennessee vs. Florida
W-Florida: Tennessee is renamed Tebowssee after Florida owns the Vols on the field.
4. Boston College vs. Georgia Tech
W-GT:
5. Arkansas vs. Alabama
W-Alabama: Run Forrest, Run!
And the oddball game:
6. Notre Dame vs. Michigan
W-Michigan: How is this the oddball game? Michigan finally gets their act together. If they do lose, however, Carr will be fired immediately following the game.
Batman:
1. Ohio State.
OSU, historically, doesn't seem to lose big non-conference games early in the season on the road.
I will pick against OSU this year, just not here.
2. USC
I am predicting USC to come up with a win because they will score more points than their opponent.
3. Florida
Tennessee cannot afford to lose this game, but they will.
4. Georgia Tech.
Should be a good game.
5. Alabama.
I predict this will be the signature win for Nick Saban, who is a good coach. He will prove over time that he is worth his salary. Charlie Weis will prove that he is not.
6. Michigan.
Michigan is still michigan. But Lloyd Carr gets more and more amusing every week "Nothing can get me down." Michigan should fire Carr immediately. However, I give moderator Neff credit for predicting that he would not lose his job.
To the Panel: I received my Ohio State t-shirt from the moderator for winning last year (Joe does deliver on his promises!). I also got a certificate which I am very proud of and will work to defend.

Dr. Funkenstein says
1. Ohio State over Washington - The Huskies have impressed me thus far, but there's one thing they haven't prepared for: me. I will personally be the X-factor at Saturday's game.
2. USC over Nebraska - USC is looking to take back some of the first place votes they lost to LSU last week.
3. Florida over Tennessee - I would really love a Volunteer victory here, but I just don't see it happening.
4. Boston College over Georgia Tech - Tech started off with a nice win at ND, but they're not good enough to stop BC from winning the ACC.
5. Alabama over Arkansas - Nick Saban has the folks in Tuscaloosa excited again. It's not enough to win the SEC this year, but it's enough to take down Darren McFadden and the Hogs.
6. Michigan over Notre Dame - With two inexperienced quarterbacks, this game has the potential to be the most hilariously bad game ever for this series and an Instant Classic for Buckeye fans everywhere. I'll go with the Wolverines who have thus far had one fewer beatdown than the Irish.
Ohio State over Washington - Though OSU didn't look so good the last two weeks, they'll step it up for this PAC 10 team. OSU's defense will be too much for WA to handle.
USC over Nebraska - John David Booty should be on an SEC team - like Alabama's John Parker Wilson or Tennessee's 3rd string quarterback extraordinaire Jim Bob Cooter.
Tennessee over Florida - I know this will be a tough one for my Vols, but I believe in thinking positive and rooting for my alma mater.
Georgia Tech over BC - GT beat one Catholic school this year, BC will succumb to the same fate.
Alabama over Arkansas - I know this is a stretch, but it's at Alabama and Arkansas is still hurting at QB and can often be streaky. Though McFadden may be able to carry the team, I'm going w/ the Crimson Tide...ROLL TIDE!
Michigan over Notre Dame - Who would have thought that Michigan would be in an oddball game this season? I really would enjoy a loss by either team, and although Michigan won't have Henne, I think they will bounce back this week.

Man Getting Hit by Football Doth Sayeth:
Ohio State def. Washington: I've noticed that the Buckeye quarterbacks have some pretty amusing last names this season. I got lots of love for Troy Smith, but his name just wasn't very fun to say, let's be honest here.
USC def. Nebraska: When are the USC TROJANS finally going to play the gameCOCKS of South Carolina? But, this is a pretty good challenge in and of itself.
Florida def. Tennessee: Fun fact of the day; Florida Coach Urban Meyer was named after a Pope. Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer was named after New York Yankees rookie pitcher Philip Hughes. And I hate myself some New York Yankees.
GT def. BC: I wish I had something funny or amusing to say here, but I really don't. Sorry to dissapoint the legions of Man Getting Hit by Football fans. You just can't be on top of your game all the time folks.
Arkansas def. Alabama: Look for Darren McFadden to be sporting Cowboys blue and white next season. Jerry Jones already is preparing the "McFadden White House," with accompanying drugs and prostitutes, in his honor.
Michigan def. ND: I never knew Joe had such a good sense of humor. I must admit, I had a good laugh when I saw that this was the oddball game for the week. Not quite the matchup that Eastern Michigan-Ball State was last week, but damn close.
