Notes from Kent State Game
Ohio State scored once in the first quarter, and then four times in the second half. One of those touchdowns was a record setting 90 yard punt return by Brian Hartline. Another one of the touchdowns was a 70 yard returned interception by Donald Washington. Most of the starters were pulled in the second half, but under the direction of Schoenhoft OSU had one more touchdown and two field goals. One of those field goals was a 49-yard kick by Pretorius. Unfortunately OSU missed another chance at a shutout, when Kent State scored in the last three minutes. Both quarterbacks had great numbers, with Boeckman going 13 of 16 and Schoenhoft going 7 of 9. Beanie only had four carries for 17 yards and one touchdown. Leading in rushing for OSU was true freshman Saine with 69 yards.
