Yellow #5
1. Penn State-I don't anticipate a lot of offense, but PSU has the edge.
2. Alabama-The Tide continues to roll at home.
3. Oklahoma-Newsflash "Half of the Nebraska team got lost in the kiddie corn maze last weekend", not a good sign for this team.
4. Notre Dame-Hate to pick 'em
5. Michigan-There is an AMBERT Alert on the signs above the highways of Michigan, it reads "MISSING DEFENSE, LAST SEEN WITH COACH CARR"
6. Alabama-Birmingham-the likely winner of the game between these two high school versions of the SEC teams in their respective states.
BIG DOG picks....
1. Ohio State vs. Penn State
OSU, (Zombie Chant)I must always pick OSU, I must always pick OSU, I must always pick OSU, I must always pick OSU.......
2. LSU vs. Alabama
Bama brings it and Hogs eat Tiger!
3. Oklahoma vs. Nebraska
Cornhuskers WIN, what the heck is a sooner?
4. Navy vs. Notre Dame
Norte Dame, this hurts but they must be picked.
5. Purdue vs. Michigan
Purdue, quit whining wOlVeRiNe fanz and wear longer skirts, it'll stop the DRAFT!
And the oddball game this week is:
6. Florida Atlantic vs. Alabama-Birmingham
Alabama Birmingham romps over the Florida Atlantic Owls who fly hard and fast away from the BLAZERS!
Buckeye Cock needs to make some HEADway on Pat HEAD. Get it?
1. Penn State - I know, can you believe it? I have almost no confidence in the ability of TP. I think the Penn State D is getting a lot better and their O is already great. I still don't know how they lost to Iowa.
2. Alabama - This one will not be close. LSU sucks on the road.
3. Oklahoma - Too little, too late Sooners. Although they do knock Nebraska out of Big 12 north contention.
4. Notre Dame - I wouldn't be surprised if Navy pulls off the upset.
5. Michigan - You would almost think that they wouldn't go to a bowl game. Purdue sucks on the road.
6. UAB
Batman
Games for this week:
1. Penn State
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Notre Dame
5. Michigan
6. Alabama-Birmingham
Last week was everyone in the middle of the pack's chance to make their moves.
It is too difficult for me to catch Pat Head with so little time remaining.
I picked Penn State even though I believe Ohio State will win. Can anyone explain that logic to me?
Hudy Picks for week 10
OSU over Penn State
Alabama over LSU
OK over Nebraska
Notre Dame over Navy
Mich over Purdue
FAU over UAB.
The season is drawing short but I am making my run, with a little luck, I will overtake Batman by year end. If I come up slightly short there, I will definitely get the best of him come bowl season
Andy Katzenmoyer's Professor, While on Sabbatical, Writes:
Penn State def. Ohio State: Sorry, Buckeye fans (myself obviously included), but like our esteemed Guest Panel moderator, I just don't think this is the Buckeyes' season. Plus, the loss of Pettrey for the rest of the season is ginormous. I wasn't overly impressed with Barclay in the NMSU game. How I long for the days of Dan Stultz and Michael "Columbus City Madman" Nugent. And, I hate to say it, but the Penn State dairy ice cream beats Graeter's as well. I've had both, and it's true.
Alabama def. LSU: ESPN folks and others are saying this is Alabama's trap game before its inevitable SEC Championship/de facto national title game showdown with Florida. Don't buy the hype.
Oklahoma def. Nebraska: Think Sam Bradford is regretting his decision to return for another season after his Heisman Trophy-winning campaign much? Well, he'll likely be playing for The Professor's favorite professional team (the Redskins) in '10, so, his misery will undoubtedly continue. Concerning the game, however, Oklahoma's 3 losses have been by a combined 5 points, all vs. ranked teams, all on the road/neutral site games. Nebraska lost to Iowa State. As the cliche goes, CASE CLOSED.
Notre Dame def. Navy: Navy had its one victory every 40 years vs. Notre Dame 2 years ago. By my calculations, their next victory will be in 2047. Hopefully, the Guest Panel will still be around then and I can pick the Midshipmen. Until then, it's the Golden Domers.
Michigan def. Purdue: I didn't see the game, but I still have no idea how in the name of all that is good the Buckeyes lost to the Boilermakers. However, the Wolverines aren't much better. Nevertheless, they are 5-1 at the Big House this season, and the 'Due is 0-3 on the road. Look for Michigan to participate in a pre-XMas bowl game this year.
UAB def. FAU: And I'm spent.
Old Bag of Man is going the wrong way in the standings.
1) OSU wins. Can't go against the Buckeyes. This will be a tough game but I think our defense gets the job done.
2) Alabama wins. LSU is fake good, much like the rest of the SEC.
3) Oklahoma wins. Oklahoma is the best 3 loss team.
4) Notre Dame wins. I hate typing that but even though Navy gave us a good game I don't think they'll get this one.
5) Michigan wins. Once again I hate typing that. This will be close but I think Purdue is overmatched.
6) Fl. Atl wins. Not sure why.
Philly Cheese
Ohio State
Alabama
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Michigan
Florida Atlantic
1. Ohio State
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Navy
5. Michigan
6. Alabama-Birmingham
Pat Head's Picks: I'm scared this week!
1. Ohio State over Penn State - I don't pick against the Vols or the Buckeyes. It's a rule that I must follow.
2. Alabama over LSU - Alabama's offense has definitely struggled, but their defense is amazing. I think Alabama's defense will be the difference in this game.
3. Oklahoma over Nebraska - Nebraska ain't had much offense recently which will be their downfall in a close game against Oklahoma.
4. Notre Dame over Navy - I think the Midshipmen will play well, but ND will come out on top. They will lose again though before the season is out. If not, they may end up in the title game...somehow.
5. Michigan over Purdue - Michigan has had more success at home than on the road. I think they'll end their Big 10 losing streak against Purdue.
6. Alabama-Birmingham over Florida Atlantic.
Penn State nips OSU
Of the last 3 games this is the one I’m picking the Bucks to lose…they just haven’t impressed me enough on offense. They’ll have better luck against the Hawkeyes and that Team Up North, but Darryl Clark seems to have our number lately. This will be painful to watch.
LSU trips up Alabama
I’ll go with the upset here….maybe the best game we’ll see in the SEC before the championship.
Nebraska husks Oklahoma
No Sam Bradford = No victories. Nebraska has a rather explosive offense and will showcase it talent this weekend at night in their recruit filled home stadium. Let the Battle of the Big Reds commence!!!
Notre Dame swamps Navy
The Domers have won and lost close all season and this one will be no different. Take the over on whatever line you’re given, both offenses will score!
Michigan wrecks Purdue
It’s a classic Noon-game sleeper, but the Ghoulverines of last weekend’s half-time show are still fighting for a bowl game spot and based on their final 3 game lineup they’ll need to win this one to have a chance.
Alabama-Birmingham over Florida-Atlantic
Taking the points in this one…better commentary next week when this project is wrapped up!!!
Spamsandwichsan says...
1. Ohio State over Penn State
2.Alabama over LSU
3. Nebraska over Oklahoma
4. Notre Dame over Navy
5. Michigan over Purdue
6. Alabama-Birmingham over Florida Atlantic
