Here are the games for the Guest Panel to consider this week. Due to the OSU bye week, there will be one regular guest panel game and five oddball games.
Below are the standings as well. With 5-1 records, Batman jumped back into a tie at first with Mel Kiper, while Pat Head moved up from 7th to a tie for 4th. Only Philly Cheese correctly predicted the winner of the oddball game.

Old Bag of Man proclaims these picks to be true.
1) Wisconsin. We don't need them mad coming into the Shoe.
2) Utah St.
3) Louisiana Monroe. Even though North Texas are the Mean Green and I think they have Kathy Ireland as their kicker they don't stand a chance.
4) Tulsa
5) Florida Atlantic
6) UTEP
Big dog......

Wow. This is the week of randoms. I could easily go 0 for 6. We'll see.
Philly Cheese
Wisconsin
Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Monroe
Tulsa
Middle Tennessee
Colorado St.
Buckeye Cock:
Good win for the Bucks on the road. We might actually go to a bowl game after all.
1. Wisconsin - I know it's their first true test on the road and all, but damn they looked good against Nebraska.
2. Utah ST - It will be close, but Utah State runs all over them.
3. L-Monroe
4. Rice
5. Middle Tennessee
6. UTEP
Wisconsin over Michigan State. I love (am wistful for) MSU's defense. But until someone actually keeps the game close w/ Wisconsin, I gotta go w/ Bucky
Utah St. over Karl Malone. Aggies play so much better at home than on road. How much $$$ gets spent traveling in the WAC? Football can't do more than break even in this league...
N. Texas over La-Mon. La-Mon too high coming off their big win vs. erstwhile league powerhouse Troy.
Tulsa over Rice. Rice has its back against the Bowl Eligible wall. I know all of you care...
Middle Tennessee over Florida Atlantic. I always heard these Tennessee - Florida games are a huge matchup!!!
UTEP over CSU. Miners doubleteam Norris Cole every time he gets the ball, Montgomery and Harmon can't make them pay from the perimeter, Pogue picks up two quick first half fouls, Vikings lose on the road...
spamsandwichsan says... two weeks of 1-5 records this year have put me at the back of the pack!!
1. Wisconsin over Michigan State - Michigan win was overrated, but this could be a close game. I hope Wisconsin can deal with sparty's annoying mascot, fans and defense better than I can... 60 year old alumni shouting obscenities at me when they were in Columbus kind of caught me by surprise!
2. Utah St. over Louisiana Tech
3. Louisiana Monroe over N. Texas
4. Tulsa over Rice
5. Middle Tennessee over Florida Atlantic
6. UTEP over Colorado St. - ESPN mobile app shows stubhub tickets still available!!! Starting at $32??? Since when do Sun Belt games require tickets?
Paul the Octopus has not had a good past few weeks of picks. Ever since reaching the zenith of a tie for first place with the Hair, he's fallen steadily back into the pack. And of course this week our esteemed Moderator has shoved five oddball games up our a**es. Thanks. Anyways, here goes nothin'...
Wisconsin def. Michigan State: In this humble Guest Panelist's opinion, the Spartans are the second best team in the Big 10, by a fairly wide margin. There are at least 4-5 players on their starting defense that'll be playing on Sundays in a year or two. The only problem is that this week, they're playing the best team in the conference. Ball has 16 TDs in 6 games...ponder that statistic for a moment. For the gambling degenerates, mark this game down as Paul the Octopus’ Week #8 8 Tentacle Death-Hold Pick of the Week (6-1 record so far in such games this season). Now if only my record was like that in all the other games, I'd be set...
Utah St. def. Louisiana Tech: Utah State nearly (in truth and in fact, should have) beat the defending national champions on their home field the first game of the season. Gonna go with the second rate Mormons in this one.
Louisiana Monroe def. N. Texas: I have nothing remotely interesting to say about this game, other than the fact that I really like the North Texas team nickname.
Tulsa def. Rice: Paul the Octopus' future-in-law lives in Tulsa. He tells Paul that it's a pretty bi**hin' place to live. I guess they have a bitchin' football team as well. Well, at least this coming Saturday they do.
Middle Tennessee def. Florida Atlantic: The more interesting over/under on this game will be the number of "fans" (and I use that term loosely; you show me a Florida Atlantic football fan, I'll show you a person living in denial) in attendance. I place that number at exactly 138.
UTEP def. Colorado State: Is Mike Price still the head coach at UTEP? If so, I dedicate this pick to him, solely because of his belief in placing greater value in going to see strippers (and have an SI writer catch you doing so) mere days after you're named head coach at one of the legendary college football programs in the country than actually doing your job. And for that Coach Price, I dedicate this pick to you.
Wisconsin v Michigan State - Win Wisconsin
L Tech v Utah State - Win Utah State
L Monroe v N Texas - Win L Monroe
Tulsa v Rice - Win Tulsa
M Tennessee v F Atlantic - Win M Tennessee
C State v UTEP - Win UTEP
Batman
This is a tough week. But props to Philly Cheese for picking Eastern Michigan, truly impressed.
1. Wisconsin
2. Utah State
3. Louisiana Monroe
4. Tulsa
5. Middle Tennessee
6. UTEP
Words of wisdom for the week:
Play the hand you are dealt.
Thought of the week:
Before age 30 your body will take care of you, after age 30 you must take care of your body.
Keeping an eye on:
Pat Head, climbing the standings.
Pat Head's Picks:
1. Wisconsin over Michigan State: With Gholston out, Michigan State's defense will suffer a big blow. I still think they'll hold the Badgers to less than 30 points, but I'm not sure the Spartan's offense can keep the defense off the field enough to win. I predict it will be close for 3 quarters, then Wisconsin scores big in the fourth.
2. Utah St. over La Tech.: Utah State has lost some close ones this year. Hopefully they can pull out a nice win at home.
3. Louisiana Monroe over N. Texas: I'm surprised Moderator Neff didn't put the Ragin' Cajuns in this week to complete the Louisiana locational? circle.
4. Tulsa over Rice: There are too many Louisiana and Texas teams!
5. MTSU over Florida Atlantic: Go MTSU! We (hopefully) will get to see UT beat their in-state "rival" in a few weeks! In the meantime, I'll root for my parents alma mater
6. UTEP over Colorado State: I really have no clue about these teams.
