Old Bag of Man is here to say:

1) OSU. Night game here and our defense will make the big plays.

2) MSU. The Big 10 needs MSU to win.

3) PSU. The wheels have fallen off of the Illinois wagon.

4) Stanford. I like USC...only when they play ND.

5) Oklahoma. Kansas St. is fake good.

6) Miami.

Buckeye Cock:

1. Badgers - I'll be there, but unfortunately, it won't be enough. What's the over/under on how many passes Miller will attempt? Is it still 3??

2. Spartans - This is an interesting one. I wonder if Gholston (sp) will attempt to twist anyone's helmet.

3. Penn ST - Illinois is awful.

4. Stanford - Luck, enough said.

5. Oklahoma - Did they really lose at home to Texas Tech? Really??

6. Miami (OH)

1. Wisconsin over Ohio State - i hate to pick against the bucks, but badgers will be very pissed off after getting re-played last week and i look for them to take it out on both sides of the ball. plus, Wisconsin is probably gonna get 5+ sacks, one of which that will be a fumble... which may lead to red-beard coming in the game and throwing out-of-bounds hail mary’s for the rest of the game!

2. Nebraska over Michigan St. - sparty has been lucky and their defense fell apart to let Wisconsin come back at the end. this will be tough road game

3. Penn St. over Illinois - zook will lay his third egg in a row... and joe pa will lay down for a nap

4. USC over Stanford - not sure if SC looked good or it was just confirmed that ND stinks... i bet the 2009 UC football team is happy with Brian Kelly’s success these past two years!

5. Kansas St. over Oklahoma

6. Miami (OH) over Buffalo - i’ll be doing yager bombs with a bunch of brooklynites in honor of the game being played in yager stadium!!

Ohio State over Bucky. Barry Alvarez figured out how to win in Columbus, Bielema hasn't. Bucks pound ball, hold Bucky to enough field goals, to win, 21-20.

Nebraska over Michigan State. Gholston punches Pelini, whose brother must finish game as head coach; Huskers punch out Spartans.

Penn St. over Illinois. Paterno's postgame: "I was a bit concerned when we were behind 21-0 in the third quarter, but then looked down from the press box at the opposing sidelines, saw Ron Zook standing there in a headset, and suddenly felt much better about our chances..."

Stanford over USC. And we in Columbus thought, back in '09, that Matt Barkley would be the Heisman candidate by now.

Oklahoma over Kansas St. Angry Sooners have played much better competition than the Snyder family has.

Miami over Buffalo. This selection from the same guy who forecasted a MAC title and top 25 season for the RedHawks this year. Of course, that's why I'm in something like 23rd place in this pool thus far this year...

Batman:

1. Wisconsin
2. Michigan State
3. Penn State
4. Stanford
5. Oklahoma
6. Miami (OH)

I am relieved that the odd ball week is over, that was truly brutal. The worst of it was MSU winning on the most awful play they will be replaying our whole lives. Truly sad.

I am going with one upset this week with MSU, why not jump on their bandwagon? Not sold on Nebraska.

Ohio State played great against Illinois and deserves credit but the road is tough from here on out. I am picking Wisconsin by at least a touchdown.

Penn State has won every game they were supposed to up to this point. Illinois will be a struggle for them as PSU lost badly to them last season. I think that plays a revenge factor card here.

I'll be pulling for Miami again this Saturday then on Sunday I will be observing practice with the Men's basketball team and Head Coach Charlie Coles. Really looking forward to this weekend.

Pat Head's Picks:

1. Ohio State over Wisconsin: I'm sure my pick has been influenced by OSU's week off. OSU is looking for revenge against Wisconsin for last year's beat down. They will come out swinging and hopefully won't relax the pressure until the game is over.
2. Michigan St. over Nebraska: Perhaps this is a risky pick, but I think MSU can pull off a win in Lincoln. I predict they will lose to someone they shouldn't before hte regular season is over though.
3. Penn St. over Illinois: I think?
4. Stanford over USC: USC is going to be the first real test for Stanford. I think it will be close for most of the game, but Stanford will pull out the win.
5. Oklahoma over Kansas St.: I know K State has pulled off wins in "big" games this year, but I'm not sure Oklahoma is going to lose 2 weeks in a row. Another Top 10 team will lose this week.
6. Miami (OH) over Buffalo: Buffalo Bulls? Now that's confusing.

Paul the Octopus is officially mired in a rut. Poor records the last few weeks have him in a tie for 7th place all by himself; the definition of mediocrity. But at least he’s ahead of Buckeye Cock, which is really all that matters. And major congrats to the few Guest Panelists that correctly predicted the Wisconsin-MSU upset last week. It was a bold prediction, and all of you were rewarded handsomely for your fortune telling abilities. Fortune favors the bold as they say. Onto this week’s picks…

Wisconsin def. Ohio State: I had to see the replay of that game-winning Hail Mary pass a few times to actually see whether the receiver had the ball in the end zone or not. I give the referees credit for getting the call correct, because that’s the sort of call that can alter the outcome of an entire football season, national championship game included. I thought that Wisconsin was arguably the second or third best all-around team in the country before last Sat. night, and, in spite of the loss, they’re probably still pretty high up there. Wisconsin’s anger over last week’s result triumphs over the Buckeyes’ desire for revenge on Sat. night in the ‘Shoe. Not to mention the transitive property applies in this game: Wisconsin beat Nebraska, Nebraska beat Ohio State; therefore, Wisconsin beats Ohio State.

Michigan St. def. Nebraska: In this humble Guest Panelist’s opinion, the ‘Huskers are one of the more overrated teams in the country. They should have lost the game at home vs. the Buckeyes (and probably would have had Miller not been knocked out of the game), and their best win of the season so far is against an overrated Washington team at home. Although Nebraska RB Rex Burkhead was a close second place in the Annual Heterosexual Man Crush Contest, that fact alone will not lead the Blackshirts to a W on Saturday. Nebraska is getting 4 points at home, but definitely take the Spartans to win straight up, and make yourself some money this weekend!

Penn St. def. Illinois: How the Nittanys are 7-1 so far, I’ll never know. When you beat Temple by only 4 points and Indiana by only 6 points in the same season, there’s no way on God’s Green Earth that you should be 7-1 and the #19 team in the country. But, somehow they are, so, good for them. When can we officially start the “Fire Zook” countdown? I think it’ll take at least one more loss after this game, but, it’s going to start soon, trust me.

Stanford def. USC: With (Andrew) Luck on your side, you can’t lose! (yes, I know, going back to the same ol’ commentary well for the second year in a row; so sue me). I think the USC WR Woods will get his (he’s probably better than ½ of the WRs in the NFL right now; catch this kid live in game action if you can, he’s pretty incredible), but, Stanford has it going on all aspects of the game right now. Personally, I think that Stanford would probably give the two SEC Kings of the Mountain the best game in the national title game, rather than OU, BSU, Oregon, or any of the other highly ranked undefeated or one loss teams. For the gambling degenerates, mark this game down as Paul the Octopus 8 Tentacle Death-Hold Pick of the Week #9 (6-2 record in such games so far; my apologies to all my loyal fans for my pick last week; what can I say, sometimes the tentacle just doesn’t bounce your way).

Oklahoma def. Kansas St.: The readers with a sharp eye will notice that the transitive property applies here to this game as well, but yet, I’ve picked the exact opposite outcome. Heresy, you say? Hardly. As much as I respect the Wildcats and their head coach for the great job they’ve done so far this season, look closer at their wins thus far. Probably their most impressive win was at Miami vs. a team struggling with suspensions and a looming NCAA investigation, or a last-second win at home vs. an overrated Baylor team. I won’t necessarily say to take Oklahoma with the points (they’re getting 14on the road, which I think is about 4-7 too many), but, Oklahoma straight up is a pretty safe bet.

Miami (OH) def. Buffalo: No real rhyme or reason to this pick, other than the fact that the Redhawks are playing at home.
