Quarterbacks
At QB, Braxton Miller returns for his sophomore year as a second year starter. Miller was pushed into the starting role last year, but he capped off the season with 335 offensive yards against Michigan. Kenny Guiton will get minutes as the back-up, as Coach Meyer is known for utilizing two quarterbacks.
Receivers
Junior Corey Brown will be the go-to number one receiver. Sophomore Devin Smith will be next in receptions. You may remember Devin Smith's game winning touchdown reception against Wisconsin last season. Senior Jake Stoneburner was converted from receiver to tight-end as a freshman, and now he comes full circle as he is converted back to a receiver. The other receivers will be sophomore Evan Spencer, sophomore Tyrone Williams, and freshman Michael Thomas. At tight end are sophomore Jeff Heuerman and red-shirt freshman Nick Vannett. Heuerman had one catch last year in the Gator Bowl, while Vannett sat out for the season.
Running Backs
The season will start with Carlos Hyde at RB, as Jordan Hall continues his recovery from a torn ligament. Freshman Bri'onte Dunn will share the backup role with Rod Smith. FB Zach Boren will have a different role this year, as he will have more carries and receptions.
O-Line
On the O-line the returning 13-game starters from last year are junior Jack Mewhort and junior Andrew Norwell. Also on the line is junior Marcus Hall and senior Reid Fragel. Fragel converted from tight-end to offensive tackle. At right tackle he beat out true freshman Taylor Decker for the starting role. You can expect to see Decker play at some point, as he made a big impression during practice.
