Offense
The offense is very balanced, averaging over 250 yards of rushing and passing each game. Junior quarterback Connor Cook is second in the Big Ten with 233 passing yards/game. He has passed for 1868 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions. At running back is senior Jeremy Langford with 841 yards and ten touchdowns. The main receiver is by far senior Tony Lippett who averages 111 yards/game and this season has nine touchdowns. Also at receiver are Josiah Price with 258 yards and five other receivers with over 100 yards and at least one touchdown this season.
Defense
The Spartans lead the Big Ten with a +12 turnover margin, due to the defense forcing 22 turnovers. Leading the team in tackles is safety Kurtis Drummond with 39. Linebacker Ed Davis has 10 tackles for loss this season, which includes six sacks. Defensive end Shilique Calhoun also has six sacks this season.
