Week 4 Guest Panel Games

1. Penn State at OSU

Penn State (XBOX ) at OSU (GREEK, OLD BAG, SHADY, CLEATUS, GUAPO, SPAM, BATMAN, DEERE, FUNK, PHILLY )

GREEK- I think that Penn State is due for another winning season (a la 2005) around 2013. Strangely enough, scientists predict
that'll be the same year that swine bear wings.

OLD BAG- Joe Pa decides to drive the team bus here, they leave on Friday night and after a stop at Perkins in New Jersey, they arrive in Maine by Sunday night....missing the OSU game and thus saving themselves from embarassing themselves against us.

SHADY- I wonder if JoePa has ever cried after a loss.  I hope someone makes sure he's wearing his Depends.

CLEATUS- Joe Pa will poop his pants in the 3rd quarter but won't realize it until midway thru the 4th. 

GUAPO- There's no place like home

FUNK- Remember last year's redemption game against Iowa?  This one could be uglier for Penn State.

 

2. Notre Dame at Michigan State

Notre Dame (GREEK, OLD BAG, SPAM, BATMAN, DEERE, FUNK, XBOX, PHILLY ) at Michigan State (SHADY, CLEATUS, GUAPO )

GREEK- I think that Joe apparently has a crush on Brady Quinn or Charlie Weis or something...every week with the
Notre Dame games Joe. Seriously, it pains me and the other guest panelists to pick these games; we want to win the weekly picks (why we usually pick Notre Dame ton win), but, it's like cheering for the Yankees or something. It's just wrong.
OLD BAG- Once again can they both lose? If not then Notre Dame.

SHADY- I know I know, the visiting team always wins this game.  The Spartans will learn from the Wolverines and don't forget, Drew Stanton is pretty damn good.

CLEATUS-I hate to pick Notre Dame to win this game, so I won't.  Michigan State always tends to pull out a big win sometime during the year and being at home will help them beat Notre Dame. 

GUAPO- Why stop picking an ND loss now?

SPAM- since i'm lacking in the scores, i must pick notre dame... since brady quinn blew his chances for heisman, does charlie weis have any hot daughters???

DEERE- From Crushed to a win

FUNK- I really want to pick State in this game, but I just have a feeling ND will bounce back from last week.  I think one of these teams will win comfortably, I'm just not sure who.

 

3. Arizona State at California

Arizona State (GREEK, CLEATUS, SPAM, DEERE, XBOX, PHILLY ) at California (OLD BAG, SHADY, GUAPO, BATMAN, FUNK )

GREEK- this is the sort of game that'll make or break a Joe's Buckeye pregame guest panelist's entire season. Does one go with his mind or his gut with this game? The devil (literally) or the angel (not so literally)? If I don't finish in first place this week, this game will be the reason why (yes, I am gloating about my two straight weekly first place finishes here).

OLD BAG- The Pac-10 is about as useful as an asshole on an elbow. But since Joe put it on here I'll go with California.

SHADY- The Pac-10 is having a down year, I give the edge to the home team at night.

GUAPO- Upon further review, there is indisputable video evidence that the Pac-10 has been reduced to cheating in order to beat non-conference opponents (see Oklahoma v. Oregon).

SPAM- asu since they are so friendly to us when we travel to columbus-west

FUNK- It's nice to see the Sun Devils returning to form, but they're not going to get to 4-0.

 

4. Minnesota at Purdue

Minnesota (OLD BAG, SHADY, GUAPO, BATMAN, DEERE ) at Purdue (GREEK, CLEATUS, SPAM, FUNK, XBOX, PHILLY )

GREEK- afterwards, the Purdue students tear down the goalposts and parade through West Lafayette, knowing quite well that this will
be their biggest win of the entire season.

OLD BAG- Still not sure what a boilermaker is (it can't be a beer whiskey concoction, it just can't). Also didn't think a gopher was that mean but they'll win this one.

SHADY- Go Gophers!

CLEATUS- Wasn't Jim Purdue the guy in all those Purdue chicken commercials?  I like chicken. 

GUAPO- The battle for Big 10 mediocrity hits full tilt.

SPAM- purde will recover from their close call last week.  62 points is impressive for any team, but i think minnesota will struggle with some big ten competition
DEERE- The Gophers will puncture the "Big Drum"

FUNK-  A couple years ago, this was a really intriguing matchup.  What happened?

5. Central Michigan at Eastern Michigan

Central Michigan (GREEK, OLD BAG, SHADY, CLEATUS, SPAM, BATMAN, DEERE, FUNK, PHILLY ) at Eastern Michigan (GUAPO, XBOX )

GREEK- what the hell is a Chippewa anyways?! Gotta love these small schools and their random team nicknames. If I ever start a university, the team nickname will be "The Fightin' Scissors," or something equally random like that.

OLD BAG- Is this a gang war? Eastside vs. South Central, word-up. Central since I saw them on tv and they looked decent.

SHADY- and the battle for the directional Michigan trophy goes to – it doesn't matter.

CLEATUS- Eastern Michigan is like the Cleveland Browns of the MAC.

GUAPO- Why wasn't Jesus born in Michigan?  Because they couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

SPAM- i'm picking cmu... just because i was recruited by eastern michigan for a swimming scholarship, so their athletic department must definately suck!

FUNK-  Chippewas eat Eagles.
