Ohio State lost its first game under Luke Fickell, with a final score of 24-6 at Miami. The Hurricanes scored two early touchdowns and turned the ball over three times, but Ohio State was unable to win or score a touchdown. Joe Bauserman and Braxton Miller combined for 4 of 18 passing for 35 yards. Miller threw one interception and had one lost fumble (also one recovered fumble.) The running game looked a bit better as Jordan Hall shined with 87 yards and Carlos Hyde had 54 yards. Another positive note was that Drew Basil hit his first and second field goals of the season, and in his career. The Buckeye defense did allow two early touchdowns, but limited Miami to 247 yards the rest of the game and only one more touchdown, which occurred in the last minute of the game.
