Penn St. loses to Ohio State - can't push against 20-0...shouldn't be an easy one by any means...but imagine after the Mich game the Lions will be sleepy...

Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma - Sooners squash the Techies

UCLA loses to Oregon - wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Bruins pulled this out out of the hat.

Toledo beats BGSU - Rockets pull off the huge rivalry win!

Northwestern loses to Iowa - like to think the Wildcats would be favoured but would probably be better for OSU's hopes if the last team they struggled with won their next game..

Two odd-balls this week? MKH has enough to worry about than routinely ponder a second 'nobody-cares' option...

Western Michigan beats Massachusetts - no tea party I'd want to attend

Louisiana Tech loses to FIU - it's nice to know rec-league ball still get's some recognition every once in a while!

1. Ohio State - Penn State showed signs of life at the beginning of the season, but those days are over. The win over m*ch*g@n is at least something to get them through the winter in Happy Valley.
2. Oklahoma - Texas Tech is also undefeated? There seem to be a lot more of those than usual for this point in the season.
3. Oregon - Speaking of undefeated teams, I don't see that changing with regard to Oregon any time soon.
4. Bowling Green - I predict a bit of a letdown this week for the Rockets after their thrilling win over Navy.
5. Northwestern - NU has been shellshocked ever since halftime against OSU. Perhaps the same thing has happened to Iowa.
6a. Massachusetts - UMass is in the MAC? That's new, right?
6b. FIU - Both of these teams seem to suck, but Golden Panthers is a cooler name than Bulldogs.

Ohio State, 34-24. Two best coaches in the Big Ten square off.

Oklahoma - I am 0-2 in picking Sooner games this year. Hoping the third time is the charm.

Oregon - Back to back road trips to Palo Alto and Eugene take a toll on the Bruins

BGSU - Still liking BG to win the MAC. Test of a good defense beating a good offense.

Iowa - Third and fourth best coaches in the Big Ten face off. Tough matchup from our Mod. Hawk eyes have done slightly better vs. the two teams' mutual opponents

Massachusetts - If you are a Bronco, how do you get fired up as an 0-8 team to travel to UMass? Only the players' families and girlfriends will attend this dog of a game.

Louisiana Tech

1. Ohio State over Penn St. - good to hear that dumb and dumber won’t be doing gameday, but i still might make a ‘the good torg, the bad ex-buckeye, and the ugly ex-michigan announcer’ sign

2. Oklahoma over Texas - good pass defense and bad weather will keep this one on the ground

3. Oregon over UCLA - would love to see an upset, but not banking on it

4. BGSU over Toledo

5. Iowa over Northwestern - Iowa seemed a bit faster in general, but that's not saying much against the buckeye D

6. Massachusetts over Western Michigan

6. FIU over Louisiana Tech - at least they have a suite level in their stadium

Another average week for everyone's favorite hog last week. Funtik is very much impressed by the solid effort of the rookie and our new friend Cliff Diving Raoul; it's a difficult task to go up against a core group of veterans that have been picking games longer than Obama has been in office, but he's done a great job thus far.

Ohio State def. Penn State: Penn State's game vs. Michigan had to be one of the most entertaining Big Ten games I had seen in a long time, and their freshman QB is legit, along with Robinson. Thankfully, Ohio State will have Roby back in the lineup and hopefully he learned not to target receivers anymore. Following the blueprint set by Iowa and Northwestern, Penn State keeps it close for 3 quarters, but Miller and Hyde take over in the 4th quarter and the Buckeyes win by at least 10 points.

Texas Tech def. Oklahoma: Definitely the toughest game of the week to pick. The Red Raiders come in with lots of momentum and the undefeated record, but it's no easy task to play the Sooners on the road. Methinks that the Sooners keep it close, but the "Belldozer" makes a key mistake in the 4th quarter and the Red Raiders win by a TD in a slight upset.

Oregon def. UCLA: If Ohio State doesn't make the national title game (which, as of right now, isn't looking good), I really want to see an Oregon-Alabama national title game (which I think is what most of the country wants). As usual though, this hog thinks that the Mighty Ducks lose a game late in the season that they shouldn't and have to "settle" for the Rose Bowl or another BCS game. It just won't be this game. Mark this game down as Funtik the Hog's Clairvoyant Snout Bucket Rummage Pick of the Week #9 (7-1 record in such games thus far).

BGSU def. Toledo: How is this game NOT one of the oddball games for the week?!?!

Iowa def. Northwestern: Another very tough to pick, only because Colter is scheduled to play after being injured for a few games. This hog was quite impressed by the Hawkeyes for 3 quarters last week in the Horseshoe, and the Wildcats are no Buckeyes. A close game, but Iowa wins on a late FG.

Massachusetts def. Western Michigan: How in the h*ll does UMass play its home games in the New England Patriots stadium?!?! I'm fairly certain that high school football teams in the Boston suburbs probably draw more fans to its home games than the Minutemen. And the Moderator has a big smile on his face as we have a Michigan directional school game to pick.

Louisiana Tech def. FIU: Wasn't Louisiana Tech an almost BCS buster last season? How the mighty have fallen...
