OSU over Colorado, 21-7. Kenny Guiton era starts with three TD passes.
What the heck??? Georgia Tech over UNC.
Michigan over SDState, as Brady Hoke knows his old team better than they know how to stop Denard Robinson. We've seen this fast start by Michigan before in the recent (Rich Rod) past folks...
Alabama over Arkansas. No Knile, no Mallet, no Whoo Pig Sooey, No Win for the Hogs.
Texas A&M over Oklahoma State, who is still sleep deprived from their game last weekend. Best game of the day, other than...
...Arkansas St. over Scottie Pippen.
Big Dogs Picks:
1. OSU
2. North Carolina
3. Michigan
4. Alabama
5. Oklahoma St.
6. Arkansas St.
Batman,
From almost worst to almost first in one week. Feels satisfying but I admit the first two weeks were awfully frustrating. Some seemingly easier picks from the moderator this week (still no Michigan directionals). I am predicting each home team will win.
1. OSU
2. GT
3. Mich
4. Ala
5. Texas A&M
6. Arkansas State
Michigan may be in for a rough contest, Pat Forde predicted SDSU.
Ohio State struggled on offense last week, but my thinking is that this type of game should have occurred mid-last season had players not been shielded from timely punishments.
Imagine, if you will, halfway into last season Pryor and company all being suspended. Ohio State would have played poorly and never would have done as well as they did.
Colorado v OSU - How did this become a questionable one even with the Buckeye's getting 15 at home. MKH will refrain from joining the typical Buckeye one-game our-season-is-over dump-Fickell bandwagon following a loss. That said, MKH is not above hopping on the Braxton Miller future-of-the-program get-him-exclusive-game-time best-option-at-the-moment train. Buckeyes win and spank the pants off the Buffalo's in the offensive rebound game of the century.
North Carolina v Georgia Tech - Win GT. While they won't get 604 yards on the ground (victim Kansas) the Jackets ought to continue rolling through the season based wholly on the prowess of their offense. Congrats Tarheels, sans Butch Davis you still got it, but not much hope in this one.
San Diego St. v Michigan - The Hoke-Bowl and here shall be Brady's undoing! Picking the chip-on-their-shoulder SDS recruits to come and make happy all the haters of Michigan. Win Aztecs!
Arkansas v Alabama - Two southern BBQ teams doing battle in the SEC on a Saturday afternoon - what could be better? Still not convinced by the Tide who we saw struggle to blow-out a clearly reeling PSU team but they should do just fine at home against the fighting Petrinos. Expect lots of side-line antics from the Razorback coach as they get beat by Alabama.
Oklahoma St. v Texas A&M - Nice topical choice Mr. Moderator as this will soon be a BIG12? v SEC/BigEast matchup. Either way 2011 ought to deliver a spectacular shoot out. Going with the gut...Oklahoma St wins by 2.
Central Arkansas v Arkansas St - A. Didn't know either of these teams existed B. Surprised there's a large enough base of people in Arkansas interested in higher education to support at least 3 universities (that MKH is aware of) C. Red Wolves of Arkansas State will win based on SOS, performance and home-field. No coins used this week.
Buckeye Cock:
How disappointing was the last game? Yeah, I know. Props to Mel's hair for taking sole posession of the top spot. I'll see you soon.
1. Ohio State - Ugh, I'm supposed to go to the game and its supposed to rain, rain, rain.
2. Georgia Tech - This should be a blow out.
3. Miiiiiiiiiiiiiichigan
4. Alabama
5. A&M - I think the defense will hold them down at hom.
6. Central Arkansas - third road game in a row, how tiring.
Philly Cheese
OSU
Georgia Tech
Michigan
Alabama
Oklahoma St.
Arkansas St.
Spamsandwichsan says... damn those hurricanes!!
1. OSU over Colorado
2. Georgia Tech over North Carolina
3. Michigan over San Diego St. - as long as nards Robinson doesn't get banged up too bad they should be ok. Bruising the nards is not good!
4. Alabama over Arkansas - with room to spare!
5. Texas A&M over Oklahoma St. - classic matchup that always comes down to the end... Hope the buckeyes have secured their win early on so I can switch over!
6. Arkansas St. over Central Arkansas - does a bear shit in the woods if no one sees him?
1. Ohio State
2. Georgia Tech
3. Michigan
4. Alabama
5. Texas A&M
6. Arkansas St.

Pat Head’s Picks:
1. OSU over Colorado
2. Georgia Tech over North Carolina
3. Michigan over San Diego State: I’m not so secretly hoping Michigan loses.
4. Alabama over Arkansas
5. Texas A&M over Oklahoma State
6. Arkansas St. over Central Arkansas
Paul the Octopus, currently not part of the “dangerous pair” anymore, has lost all faith in Pac-12 conference teams (thanks to losses by UCLA and Arizona State in Week #3, both games that were picked incorrectly). Congrats to the Hair for claiming first place all by his lonesome, and Batman for the first unblemished week of picks for the 2011 season thus far. Let’s hope that Week #4 treats Paul a bit more nicely.
OSU def. Colorado: Buckeye fans, we all knew that this wasn’t going to be an easy season. However, I don’t think any of us could have foreseen the lack of offensive talent that was on display on Sat. night in Miami. It looks like it’s going to be an Outback Bowl sort of season. Hey, there are worse places to be than Orlando on Jan. 1 (please see the International Bowl). Not to mention that Colorado belongs to the aforementioned Pac-12, so, I’m automatically not picking them to win based on that fact.
Georgia Tech def. North Carolina: Over/under on the number of NCAA by-law violations North Carolina will incur during the playing of this game: 3.
Michigan def. SDSU: Only picking the “Extincts” because the game is being played in the Big House. I would expect to see a very close game, similar to the OSU-Toledo game a few weeks ago. For the gambling degenerates, take SDSU with the points (the spread is 11), but Michigan straight up.
Alabama def. Arkansas: Arkansas may have a lot of talent at the skill positions, but, they haven’t faced a defense yet this season where every starter will soon be playing professionally on Sundays. The point spread is 12 for this one, so, again for the gambling degenerates, take Arkansas with the points, but go with ‘Bama straight up. Mark this game down as Paul the Octopus’ Week #4 8 Tentacle Death-Hold Pick of the Week (2-1 record so far in such games).
Texas A&M def. Oklahoma State: Toughest game of the week to pick, by far. But, a little analysis of team stats makes this pick somewhat easier to digest. Oklahoma State, despite having a record-setting offense, has no defense. Texas A&M has a pretty solid offense, but also has a talented defense. Oklahoma State’s offensive numbers have been put up against the likes of Tulsa and Louisiana-Lafayette (and no, I don’t count Arizona as a good team, despite being in a BCS conference). Add those factors up, along with the big home-field advantage of Kyle Field, and you have an Aggie victory.
Arkansas St. def. Central Arkansas: The battle of Arkansas! Going with State over Central because, despite having identical records, State has actually played two BCS conference schools (and wasn’t totally blown out of the stadium by either team), whereas Central’s big victory this year came over Henderson State. I didn’t even know Henderson was a state; WTF?!?! On a related note, I am glad to see that our Moderator has chosen at least one directional team in the oddball game, even if it’s not one of the Michigan directional schools. Slow, but steady, progress. I’ll take it. Oddball game record thus far: 2-1.
PS: Guest Panel readers, you know you’ve been sitting on the edge of your seats for it all season…and, as promised, your patience and loyalty has paid off. Paul the Octopus’ college football heterosexual man crush for the 2011 season is:
KELLEN MOORE!!!
From this point onwards until the end of the post-season, Paul the Octopus will anoint Kellen’s Boise State Broncos as his fourth favorite college football team, and put pictures of Kellen’s head surrounded by hearts in his locker at school, as befitting any college football heterosexual man crush.
